There was no movement on Sunday then four picks in four hours. Washington needs help on the defensive line and Minnesota really needs a star on offense. Both those picks make sense for those teams. S LaRon Landry has been mentioned by Atlanta at 8th overall in a lot of mock drafts, but new head coach Bobby Petrino was hired for his offensive genius. Atlanta now has two 2nd round picks (thanks Houston!) so maybe they will go defense at number 8 and go heavy on offense later. Finally Miami drafts LB A.J. Hawk's brother-in-law.

alan branch?

Branch has slipped past the Niners at #11 in the mock draft, and Denver seems to have a guy targeted in their trade up to #12. Maybe Branch will continue to fall and be available when the Packers pick? I know there are questions about his work ethic and that defensive tackle is not a major need for the Packers, but I don't think Green Bay can pass on such an impact player, since the team really needs talent wherever it can be found right now. Branch was a potential top-5 pick early in the forecasting season.

Branch is Falling

Denver did finally grab him at 12. I don't have the link but Branch reportedly was schooled by former Wisconsin Badger and current NFL defensive line coach Tim Krumrie. Krumrie runs a drill with player, lined up opposite from them, that tests hand strength. I'm sure I'm doing a crap job of explaining it, but Krumrie made Branch look awful. Branch is still a good player and at least worth a middle of the 1st round pick and the Packers could consider drafting him.
