Packer's Slow Start
After returning almost all of their starters on both sides of the ball, the Packers find themselves with a sub-par 3-3 record. A record that puts them in a theoretical 3-way tie for 1st place of the NFC north. Sure they beat the Vikqueens and that Detroit semi-pro team, but they've yet to face the Monsters of the Midway. Some people are quick to say that the answer is pretty obvious, the Packers are nothing without Favre. I disagree whole heartedly. There is no disagreeing that Favre is one of the best QB's to ever play the game, but the Packers system is setup perfectly for a new QB to take the reins. Its an offense that relies on the short passing game and allowing the WR's to run after the catch, a young QB's dream offense. Take this simple offensive concept and mix it with the best receiving core in the league and a steadily improving offense, not to mention a very talented defense, and you've got yourself a seriously good team. Right?
Well yes and no. The Packers have showed glimpses of championship play, but have also looked like their blue and silver neighbors to the east. In generally, its safe to say that the beloved Green and Gold have played very inconsistently this year. Its still early in the season and I don't mean to sound any alarms, but the Packers have a lot of work to do if they are going to make a serious playoff push. For as talented as their offense is, they have looked down right pathetic at some points. And what is going on with Ryan Grant and the rushing game? Same line, same FB, same RB, completely different ground game. You can't tell me that a new QB some how affects the running game. I a'int buying it.
I blame the slow start on the lack of running game and an injury plagued defense. This week against the Colts the Packers have a great opportunity to move forward in terms of the ground game against a pathetic Colt's run defense. Hopefully improvement will be made on the ground, but how will a battered defense hold up against an always explosive offense and Peyton Manning. Time will tell. I am predicting a tough fought Packers victory, 31-24. GO PACK!

Running game and Injuries
The lack of a running game and injuries are the top two reasons it’s been a slow start. Injuries are getting better, but the running game has shown little life. It was a little better last week at Seattle. They win if they can run the ball, not that establish the run nonsense but get some real big plays, or move the chains, running game going. Otherwise I don’t think they can win.
