Bears Questions Answered Here
The oldest and best rivalry in the NFL is once again at hand. Instead of taking a shot at the usual 5 Questions segment, thought I would pop over here and answer any questions that this here fine site might have concerning the status of the Bears teams.
I will throw this one out since I know it will be the first one asked out of the gate. Word is that Kyle Orton will play.

The Return of Kyle, but It's all about Matt
I don’t expect Kyle Orton will have a great game against the Packers, but I was expecting a big 3 INT performance from Rex Grossman, so that’s at least addition by subtraction.
My big peeve with the Packers is the awful run defense. Is RB Matt Forte going to run all over the Packers?

The good thing about Orton is he
has an excellent 10-20 yard game, so if Forte can make you put more up front, he can hit those quick routes that just break a teams back.

this isn't a zone scheme
this is man-to man, bump n run, which essentially eliminates a quick route or slant. Bob Sanders won’t command an eight man front, basically he doesn’t stack the box, so that makes the Rex/Kyle and the WRs either win or lose the battle with the CB.
Besides, why pass when you can run? The Bears just need to follow the formula, run it up the middle, clear out space and toss it to the RB/FB. Easy win here…

That is what I meant with the 10-20 yard game
The Bears will throw to Clark and Olsen all day in that area. I would guess your LBs aren’t good enough in coverage for those two.

Secret weapon?
Hawk/Brady/Collins couldn’t cover Olsen, or their own grandmother for that matter, last year.. but this year, we have the Chillar the Killar Coverage Guy, and Collins is routinely scoring more points than our offense and seems to be more of a coverage safety this year than ever before.
I hope its a great game. I have a jersey-reversal bet with a co-worker, who is a Bears fan. He has a Hester jersey for me and I got this big, old skool Starter Packer coat. Hopefully he’s wearing a Starter jacket come Monday!

and on the other side of the ball
How banged up is the once-feared and now somewhat-mediocre Chicago defense? I know Urlacher has a history of back problems, several of the top CB’s have been out with injury (but are coming back), and Mike Brown has suffered his annual nagging injury, this time to his calf. What’s the status of these impact players?

With the exception of Brown, who I don't know the status of,
everybody should be back. Urlacher is not bothered by the injury, he just isn’t playing very well.
The Bears, due to injury, have a very deep secondary. The trick for Rodgers is to accept what he is given. The Bears do not allow many plays down field, but they are vulnerable in the middle of the field in the 15 yard range.

question about matchups...
The Green Bay offensive line has been terrible in pass protection the last couple of weeks. But if the yards per carry are any indication, our run blockings seems okay… how do you think the Bears pass rush will fare against the GB offensive line?
Also, like any close game (including Minny last week) special teams will be very key. How good are the bears in kickoff and punt coverage? Also, can you comment on how devin hester will do…personally I’m frightened at how our punter is kicking…very low kicks with little hang time… a recipe for disaster facing hester.

If you offensive line is terrible all I have to say
is thank god. Our pass rush has been abysmal this year. Any help you can give us is appreciated.
Obviously, Hester hasn’t been as much of an impact, but he has been very close to breaking a few the last few games. Still his biggest advantage for us is he forces other teams to give us good field position and with Orton at the helm that equals points. Our coverage is not as good as last year, but still good.

QB Question
I always thought Rexy had a live arm, and he seems mobile, so what exactly is the issue with him? How can he have fallen from grace since being a Super Bowl QB? (See Brad Johnson?)
What is it that Kyle gives the Bears that Rex doesn’t? Obviously, I see the highlights with Rex missing the receivers by a mile, but every QB misses sometimes and I think they’re just cherry picking on those reels, anyway.
