This is an open thread for the game.
Packers: QB Brian Brohm (3rd), CB Pat Lee, RB DeShawn Wynn, LB Brandon Chillar, DE Jason Hunter, LB Danny Lansanah, OT Breno Giacomini, OG Allen Barbre.
Analysis: No significant injuries or inactives for the Packers. QB Aaron Rodgers is active and will start.
Vikings: QB John David-Booty (3rd), CB Marcus McCauley, TE Garrett Mills, LB Erin Henderson, LB Dontarrious Thomas, OT Marcus Johnson, WR Robert Ferguson, DT Letroy Guion.
Analysis: DE Jared Allen is active and exepcted to start.
The biggest news is that Jared Allen is playing for Minnesota, but since he'll be playing with only one arm, the other suffering from a severe shoulder sprain, it seems unlikely he'll have a major impact on the game.
Oh that Mike McCarthy. Last week at Tennessee, WR James Jones was inactive because the Packers kept extra blockers in to protect QB Aaron Rodgers. Now Jones is active, apparently we can expect some five WR sets because McCarthy does not fear the Vikings pass rush. But now DeShawn Wynn is inactive, leaving only two running backs active. So I guess we can expect more passing than running, which isn't a big surprise since the run defense is Minnesota's big strength.
The biggest surprise is that LB Brandon Chillar is inactive too. Although he had been taking time away from LB A.J. Hawk in recent games, he's inactive today because, apparently, Hawk is in better health and the coaches have more confidence in him, and the Vikings tight ends and running backs are not receiving threats.
The Packers are very healthy right now, this week was one of the shortest injury reports I have seen in the last two seasons, and McCarthy has more flexibility with his roster based on the matchup.

Unfortunately I’ve got some health related issues in the family right now, and although I snuck away to post an open thread for the game and comment on the inactives, I won’t be online or watching the game today. Go! You Packers! Go!

Brandon Chillar is inactive?!?!
Considering all the love he’s been getting on this site, that is a huge surprise. I sincerely hope the decision doesn’t come back to haunt us, as Visanthe Shiancoe is a perfect candidate for this week’s “Brad Hoover-effect” player.
For those of you who are unaware, the “Brad Hoover effect” is where a normally average player has a totally unpredicted breakout game against the Packers, much like Brad Hoover did back when he played for Carolina some years ago. Shiancoe isn’t a great player by any means, but he’s just skilled enough to cause some damage if he’s not properly accounted for, which makes me nervous if Chillar is inactive.

I think the key on defense...
is Aaron Kampman…aside from the run defense…if we can force them in 2nd and 3rd and long, kampman must ABUSE mckinney and or Hicks…
The reason Kampman has been ineffective
is that theres no one for them to block on the otherside. He’s amazing, but he’s not as dominating when theres no one to worry about on the right end

keeping them to a FG is definitely not the worst that could happen,
but PackFaninFL is right; some pressure on Frerotte is going to be the difference in this game.
Well, that and seeing if the pass offense can get going and actually sustain a drive on a longer field.

There is no way this should be a 4-point game. The Vikings’ defense has been absolutely dominant, with four sacks and two safeties. Ryan Grant has played somewhat well, considering the matchup he has today.
But the defense. Ohhhh, the defense. Woodson and Williams are single-handedly keeping us in this game. If the offense can get some sort of drive going to give the D a breather, we just might be able to pull this one out.

I thought McCarthy’s play-calling in key situations was, once again, very bad.
We NEED a win next week against the Bears, or else we are 4-6, 2 games back and have only 6 games left. If the Viqueens lose next week in Tampa, and we beat the Bears, we are looking at a 3-way tie (at 5-5) for first place.
