Injury Report: |
Friday Injury Report |
| SBN Coverage: | Windy City Gridiron | My Prediction: |
I've got no idea |
his game is all about the weather and the bitter cold. Anything could happen.
Packers: QB Brian Brohm (3rd), RB Brandon Jackson, FB Korey Hall, LB Danny Lansanah, T Kevin McCaskill, T Breno Giacomini, DT Anthony Torbio, DT Justin Harrell.
Analysis: RB DeShawn Wynn will see carries behind RB Ryan Grant with Jackson out. CBs Charles Woodson and Al Harris are active and will start, as expected.
Bears: QB Caleb Hanie (3rd), WR Devin Aromashodu, FB Jason McKie, LB Gilbert Gardner, G Terrence Metcalf, DT Matt Toeaina, WR Brandon Rideau, DE Ervin Baldwin.
Analysis: RB Matt Forte is active and will start, as expected. He’s safe to use in fantasy leagues. WR Marty Booker is also active.
Chicago seems to be at full strength. The Packers will miss Jackson due to his wrist injury (not a big deal because Mike McCarthy never lets him carry the ball unless it's a blowout). I doubt Wynn is given much of a chance either. Hall is missing his 2nd straight game, but it doesn't seem like the offense misses him much when he's out. FB John Kuhn should be fine as his replacement.

Matt Forte
Forgot to mention; Forte’s toe injury should be hurting bad in the bitter cold. So he’s going to be in a lot of pain while rushing for 100 yards and a TD tonight. Or maybe it will make a difference and he’ll have a bad game. Any thoughts?
Hey there Brandon...
we held him to around 60 yards right in the first meeting? I look for a repeat performance! But in all seriousness, I am guessing he’s getting that toe all shot up and wrapped up to the point of being numb.
What I am worried about is the Pack might just be totally dispirited after so many tough losses…it’s gotta weigh on them psychologically
lets hope they want to play spoiler
Frye is honestly gotta be one of the top 10 3rd Stringers in all of the NFL right now--colbyb
NO!!!
not more Kornheiser talking about Favre and Rodgers again!
Frye is honestly gotta be one of the top 10 3rd Stringers in all of the NFL right now--colbyb
no need to look at his last 4 games
his stats are hideous
Frye is honestly gotta be one of the top 10 3rd Stringers in all of the NFL right now--colbyb
that's why
we let FAvre go…his stats over the last 7 games last season, including the playoffs, were very “ehhh”…
Do I see the potential
for a beer drinking game here?
not if you want to remember the game at all
he could kill somebody if he really gets going
Frye is honestly gotta be one of the top 10 3rd Stringers in all of the NFL right now--colbyb
I am looking for Greg Jennings
to have a big game after being snubbed by his peers…I can feel that its burning him inside that they didn’t pick him….He is going to send a majur FU to the league tonight…
last game the Bears wide receivers didn’t have a catch till the late 3rd early 4th quarter if memory serves…that’s going to another key
This is going to be...
…a high scoring game…that’s what my gut tells me
Here we are...
3rd down thanks to silly penalty #1
Listen Closely
and don’t get used to it, because I’m only saying this once. OK are you ready?
Go Pack, Go.
There I said it.

Need
Rodgers and Jennings to have a big night, I could win my Fantasy League.
Gravity Says: The Phins are going to the playoffs.
oh geez...
once again the offensive line let’s us down…T Harris got penetration
dare I say it...
“colledge got schooled”? lol okay bad one…this is going to be interesting, how does our defense do against the bears….last time, we destroyed them…
YES!!
That’s it…nice going Jolly…Jolly green giant sighting
Another penalty
this is coming back…nice return though by blackmon
so
who here is going to exchange their Packer stuff if they lose to the Lions?

If Mason Crosby
kicks 2 field goals today or a crap load of extra points, or some sort of combination, then I go to my fantasy super bowl.
Well...
I’m now down 1 point.
I get 1 for an XP
I get 3 for a FG
I have no idea what happens in a tie

I feel like
we can’t do anything to stop those safety blitzes…we never pick up those blitzes…don’t know why
Rouse
They also seem to be keeping him close to the line of scrimmage to help against the run. Daring Orton to go deep.
lol my goodness...
I was just going to comment that I see Rouse being very active…good change putting him for woodson…
I can't imagine they reverse
It doesn’t look like it touched him. Either way; it was an awful punt return by Blackmon. He should have been in a position to catch it one way or another.
I'm sure
Blackmon got an earful on the sideline…
well..
this game has ground to a halt thanks to all these challenges
Jordy Nelson
30 receptions…a pretty solid rookie campaign….
Rodgers on the run
Man he’s accurate throwing on the run. Watch Tavaris Jackson for how not to throw on the run.
holy god
it looks so miserable there

Totally
I blame the Oline for allowing the penetration…and Oline for creating no holes for Grant…and the Oline for the financial collapse…and …no just kidding
*shrug*
you knew it was gonna happen to one of these teams tonight
it doesn’t help that the run game looks about as competent as a mall cop

first first down
for the bears…I fear a momentum switch
Pickett and Jolly
This has already been their best game of the season. Those guys have gotten shoved all around this season, but they’re killing the middle of the Bears OLine tonight.
Good morning all...
Blimey, Soldier Field looks colder than my flat right now. Other than the tip I’ve been reasonably (dangerously?) heartened by the play so far.
Maybe logging on here is the kiss of death……………………………..
so when does he get his big contract?
oh, wait, Mike Sherman isn’t the GM. Anyone care to take bets on how long before Thompson ships Hunter outta here?

YEs offsides!
little breathing room…we need to see Bjack in here…
Very very nice...
nice nice pass…IF Rodgers plays well, he should finish with 4,000 yards this year…not too shabby
here's one of those
3rd down thingamajigs…c’mon Jennings
Excellent from Rodgers there
Didn’t panic too much, found the open guy. Great stuff
Rodgers very solid
12/17 about 128 yards…not too shabby
wow

by Mitchell Maurer on Dec 22, 2008 8:30 PM CST reply actions
Bit unfair
blaming Grant. The Bears are on top of him before he’s even sniffing the line of scrimmage today
The offensive line needs to not get pushed 3 yards back every running play
or Grant needs to grow wings.
by Bernie's Mustache Wax on Dec 22, 2008 8:31 PM CST up reply actions
also,
Lovie Smith looked a LOT like Art Shell after that play. Like, dangerously so.

Here is the trouble spot all this year.
Would be nice to not settle for a FG.

Honestly...
IF the Bears fail to show up tonight, against a 5 and 9 team…then I am glad the Vikes win the division. The Bears are being pathetic thus far.
Right now...
we have 158 yards, the bears 28 yards
um...
hmmm…
that ain’t right.

lol!
yeah but at least he got his name called
Backup OL Allen Barbre with the return
Barbre’s run and Flynn’s fake punt are the only good; the rest of the special teams have been the ugly.
Not good when you can't put any weight on the leg.

He just wants
first dibs on the Half Time hot chocolate. He’ll be fine after that…
nice...
we need James Jones to pick up big time now…he broke out last week
Jones
Way to step in for Driver. It looked like he took an elbow to the back of the leg. Might only be a bruise, might be a twisted sprained knee.
I love it...
let’s hold it till the very end…and get a TD here…
2 minute warning
Will Chicago get a chance to add to their 44 yards on offense in the 1st half?
(Unfortunately the Bears have 78 yards on kick returns).
Unless things go really pony
I’m happy for returns to be their most productive area
Tory Humphrey!
alright …that’s the 9th different receiver
tony moll,
you are NOT a reciever. cut it out.

all of a sudden...
after 6 carries for 2 yards, he has 6 carries for 38 yards and 2 catches for 27 yards…not too shabby
Ahhhhhhhhh
A nice hot drink for HT then. There goes my planned bed time – it’s already 3am here……
and
through 6 quarters , we have outscored the bears 51 to 6, can I hear a “booyakasha!”
My god
Special teams is terrible.

shit...
Pro Bowler Nick Collins could have had that…damn
and another
probowler gets the tackle, Chuck Woodson…4th down…we get the ball back
4th quarter collapse
I’ve written a lot about their close losses, close leads surrendered in the 4th quarter. But usually, in all of those games, it was close (within 7 points) most of the game. The Packers never fell down by a lot. When they got a lead of 10 points (or more) they’ve usually kept it. At this point, with an 11 point lead, I’d be really surprised if they lost it.
if we have a 4th quarter collapse again..
it’s over, I root for the Lions next week.
But seriously, which is the 8- 6 team here? and which is the 5-9 team? We are killing these guys
Here we go...
good news, we will have the win to our backs in the 4th quarter…
YEAHHHHH
MIchael Montgomery! …so that’s 3 sacks by our Dline….
Oh nevermind
it was Jarrett Bush…now it all makes sense
NIck Nick nick!
he is all over Orton’s eyes…
Bearts increased their
offensive output by 50 percent with that one pass play…talk about futility
wow...
3rd and goal…Chillar is our leading tackler thus far
yep play action does it
14 10 now…here we go again
Tramon Williams
screwed up on that last play
whew...
first down…interesting, 3 straight runs for grant to start …up to 50 yards on the game…
Here we go...3rd adn forever
we are 6 out of 9 on 3rd down…
The key is going to be time
give Rodgers time to set, give the receivers time to get 15 yards down the field…i’m looking at you Oline!
run a draw play...
need 18 yards or so…sheesh
Ithink
Forte’s toe injury is hampering him…he looks different…not like earlier in the season…
Donald driver...
that guy is made of IRon…the real Iron Man!
finally
jermichael finley actually does something right

okay
hols up 4 fingers sheepishly 3rd down and a 7 from the Red Zone…. Convert convert
Go for it...
wow a deshawn wynn sighting! cool stuff…GO FOR IT>>>
DeShawn!!
Totally cool…incomplete pass so 2nd and goal
QB draw is more effective
if the offensive line decides to block.
by Bernie's Mustache Wax on Dec 22, 2008 10:02 PM CST reply actions
oh brother...
oh well, trying the QB draw a la John Elway in his prime…not quite gonna work…
damn...
1st and goal from the 5 and we go backwards…oh well 17 to 10, assuming he makes it
we sshould have put
Matt Flynn in to run the QB draw play….
If the bears become one dimensional on offense...
we will get 1 or 2 more picks and seal this game…
I was just thinking...
…you think the Bikin girls will show for the last game against Detroit?
damnit, first down
we do have the wind to our back at least
So now this is where
we start to see the same bad movie ending?
Packers defense has found out it is the 4th Quarter.

this season is just terrible…
well
we’ve been outscored 14 to 3 in the 2nd half…our offense hasn’t really showed up 2nd half…ironically we have the wind behind our back
Perfect
Just enough time to kick a field goal and give up the game winning TD
