Considering starting position

First possession was a disaster

Frye is honestly gotta be one of the top 10 3rd Stringers in all of the NFL right now--colbyb

Just checking

Everybody would think it would be super hilarious to see the Vikings miss the Playoffs rather than the Bears, right?

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

stupid penalty

Blame that TD on the stupid PF penalty on Harris, giving the Lions less field to work

by Jarlsberg on Dec 28, 2008 1:03 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I agree with you…Harris bonehead play

Apparently

This game is all about seeing what we have in Jermichael Finley.

I am a big transfixed

by the drama going on in our division…Texans are inside the Chicago 20 trailying 10 to 7….and Giants have the ball in Vikes territory trailing 10 to 3

Woodson is awesome

he’s been covering Calvin Johnson very well

by PackFaninFL on Dec 28, 2008 1:11 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Tramon Williams has done a great job so far too. I’ve seen him locked up on Megatron a few times and done very well

On the last drive

Pack were saved by that 3rd down drop…not good, not good…but Pack have the ball now deep inside at their 5 yard line

by PackFaninFL on Dec 28, 2008 1:15 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Bears are trailing

14 – 10, but they are driving with 40 seconds to play in the half…Orton is 11 of 13!

by PackFaninFL on Dec 28, 2008 1:29 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

bizzle...

would that be considered a field goal or a free kick field goal?

by PackFaninFL on Dec 28, 2008 1:29 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

I dont know

i have never actually seen that rule in affect

by bizzle4 on Dec 28, 2008 1:30 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

since

they can not attempt to block it I dont know how that would work!

by bizzle4 on Dec 28, 2008 1:31 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

just looked up wiki entry on free kicks...

Here is what I find… it seems like its NOT considered a field goal attempt, but a “Free kick” attempt I guess….although you are awarded 3 points like in a field goal…

But it’s classified as one of three type of free kicks…the other two are kickoffs and the kick you get after a safety…

So I guess Mason Crosby was going for the “free kick” record?

Believe it or not, the last time a free kick was successful was , incidentally, Chicago versus the bears in 1968….the bears beat us with it.

by PackFaninFL on Dec 28, 2008 1:41 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Wow...

talk about going from almost record breaker to absolute goat! Crosby kicks it out of bounds in ugly fashion to give Detriot the ball at 40 to start the half…

by PackFaninFL on Dec 28, 2008 1:44 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

haha

thanks for the find! houston is startin to roll over the bears!

by bizzle4 on Dec 28, 2008 1:44 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

You know what's weird?

I love the pack, but if there is one game this year I wouldn’t mind losing, it’s this one…I feel terrible for those other guys and what they must be going through

by PackFaninFL on Dec 28, 2008 1:59 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

yea

alot of people around here want the pack to lose so hopefully McCarthy or Thompson would get canned but I dont think they will either way

by bizzle4 on Dec 28, 2008 2:00 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

no f....... way

fumble, dumb challenge, and a Lions TD, not a good sequence.
Just hope the Lions live up to their standard of bad 4th qtrs….

What I love about Jennings

is that he has a nose for the football…you saw how he won that? Why can’t we throw up 3 of those bombs per game…Jennings gets 2 out of 3 them all the time

by PackFaninFL on Dec 28, 2008 2:03 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

yeah

but hes struggled today hes dropped 3 easy ones so far

ah man

by bizzle4 on Dec 28, 2008 2:09 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Remember when I said McCarthy should be on the hot seat?

Well it’s getting hotter, it’s the Lions for goodness sakes.

Seattle, the world's worst sports city.

by SSreporters on Dec 28, 2008 2:09 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The only trouble I have with your conclusion

is what Brady Poppinga said during the week : "All of these losses have torn our hearts out. It just hasn’t worked …" To me, its the demoralization of the players that has been the difference in these last 3 or 4 games after so many losses. Don’t see how McCarthy is at fault for that.

by PackFaninFL on Dec 28, 2008 2:12 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Still a winless team and it's a home game.

They mustn’t forget that just about every win has been a blowout for them (the Vikings game an exception).

It’s McCarthy’s job BTW to get them pumped no matter what the circumstance is.

Maybe Bikini Girls should head to the Packers locker room instead? ;-)

Seattle, the world's worst sports city.

by SSreporters on Dec 28, 2008 2:15 PM CST to parent up reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Glad to know your thoughts

I don’t think the SSreporters hot seat will have much of an effect…but we’ll see

which team

will shut down first??

by bizzle4 on Dec 28, 2008 2:12 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

Rodgers has got to start to throw the ball, he’s got time for most of the plays, he just doesn’t make quick enough decissions.

horrible call for def. holding on Cole, the tackle is made at the same time as the hold

Can we fire McCarthy now ??

by Jarlsberg on Dec 28, 2008 2:13 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

lol

just when I was losing all hope, the pack come back…nice one by R.G.!

by PackFaninFL on Dec 28, 2008 2:17 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

so

we have over 215 yards rushing, 150 of those yards on two plays lol

by PackFaninFL on Dec 28, 2008 2:18 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

by the way

Aaron Rodgers needs 77 more yards passing to reach 4,000 yards…he has 26 td’s and 13 ints on the season

by PackFaninFL on Dec 28, 2008 2:25 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

only able to "see" the game on gametracker..

what was up with McCarthy burning timeout #2 with 1 minute to go in the 3rd?

by TarHeelHawk on Dec 28, 2008 2:27 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

In other news...

David Carr is playing QB for the Giants, and the Vikings still suck.

with our O line can block anyone

by bizzle4 on Dec 28, 2008 2:29 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

horrible decision

3rd n11 and you dump it off for a 3yard gain! come on 3 points isnt going to do it

by bizzle4 on Dec 28, 2008 2:31 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

The CBS affiliate here in Des Moines

decided to give us the Bill/Pats game today. Excellent decision – I can’t imagine any Bears fans wanted to watch their team play.

by TarHeelHawk on Dec 28, 2008 2:34 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

the order of implosion

… could just as well start with the offense not producing what the need. either by Rodgers not making quick enough decissions, or Thompsons dysfunctional O-line.

by Jarlsberg on Dec 28, 2008 2:36 PM CST reply reply actions actions   0 recs

It's a win alright ...

but an ugly one … we’re not very good, we’re just less bad than the Lions, looked like they tried really hard to loose at the end, fortuneatly the Lions did more to loose than the Packers. That unsportsmanlike conduct on Kevin Smith was the final nail in their 0-16 coffin.
