Koren Robinson released
I just heard it announced on NFL Live on ESPN.
It makes me sad to see Koren Robinson go. Here's a guy who had made some bad choices, gotten in trouble, decided to right himself, and he made a full comeback to the league. It's a story that not many people really know because all we hear is the bad stuff that happens; Koren Robinson is an example of a good thing not just in sports, but life in general.
That said, from a football perspective, this move makes perfect sense. Koren is a skilled player, no doubt about it. But take a look at the new kid:

Jordy Nelson can flat out play. There is a spot for him on this roster, which means there's less room for the other recievers. Sad truth to the statement "the NFL is a business".

Great Video
Nelson made some incredible plays in that highlight reel. Working in traffic, great acceleration, gaining yards after the catch, and fantastic hands/concentration. He was moving up teams’ draft boards after a strong NFL combine and a solid senior bowl. At first he seemed like a reach, but he might not have been at all.

We traded down because there was no corner of note to be taken
I trust Ted Thompson and his talent-hording ways so much, I won’t question this decision. If it was a guy like Vinny Cerrato or Matt Millen taking, I am very skeptical. One things for sure: he won’t have to be rushed to be a top receiver.
This is two years in a row we have picked a player at a position that is obviously not a position of need. It’s pretty obvious TT (a) doesn’t want to have to pay our free agents what they could be worth, something I certainly do not have a problem with, and (b) he always wants to pick best player available in the draft, a’la Ozzie Newsome, a concept I am a little skeptical of, but if Justin Harrell turns out well, its also a concept I am more than willing to warm up to. If he does, we could probably squeak ahead of Jacksonville of having the deepest d-line in the game, even after losing Corey Williams.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Highlight Reel, Hell
The kid can play…. watching him the past couple of seasons in the Big 12, he alway seemed to come up with a play when Kansas State needed him. I don’t think he was ever the fastest, tallest, strongest guy out there, but he knew how to get open and knew how to catch the ball.
It is kind of sad that Robinson screwed up as badly as he did, but he’ll probably end up somewhere else.
