Favre contacting team?
I don't like all the rumors that are going around about Favre proving because he went to an event or not indicates Favre's comeback.
But ESPN is reporting that Favre contacted McCarthy about coming back. This would be big news and much more serious than any other rumors going around.
Here is the link. I love Favre, but I just got in the mindset being comfortable with Aaron being the guy for the Packers! Don't torture us Brett, I beleived you when I said you were retiring!

Dammit, Brett
You’re making everything so much harder.
I agree with Kyguy. Favre’s the greatest, in my opinion. But Rodgers is “the guy”.
What do you do in the unlikely event of Favre’s return?

Welcome Back Favre
I’d welcome him back, but you’d always wonder how serious his commitment is.
From a technical standpoint, it wouldn’t be a big deal if he returned. 7th round pick Matt Flynn gets to tryout for the practice squad as the 4th string QB, Brian Brohm slides into the no. 3 spot (it’s not like a 2nd round pick will have a huge salary), and Rodgers stays the backup.

But you would completely lose Rodgers mentally
If Brett returns and they just give him his job back and push Rodgers back to 2nd-string then he would demand to be traded. I know I would. What a horrible situation it would be.
And I definitely question his commitment. I’ve loved Favre since he came in that first game against Cincy in ‘92 but after his comments about knowing that he can play but not sure he wants to, and his comments the year before about not knowing if he wants the ball in his hands with the game on the line, I’m ready to move on. Please stay retired, Brett!

And I must say
After reading the reports that Brett may force the team to trade or release him, and the talk about the Vikings being a possible destination, I have to say that if that happened I think I would stop watching football altogether. My head would explode.

We don't want him either!
Though the idea of driving every Green Bay fan insane is appealing, it’d bork up our QB situation even more when he’d play the retirement game next off-season.
