Aaron Rodgers In Sports Illustrated
SI's article about Aaron Rodgers this week was a little disappointing because it had little about Aaron Rodgers. Most of the article was devoted to other quarterbacks who followed Hall of Fame quarterbacks and failed. It was interesting, but I want more Packers stuff!
At first I thought the article's author roped Rodgers into saying "the comment!!!"
"I don't feel I need to sell myself to fans. They need to get on board now or keep their mouths shut."
But then I found out that the author was Chris Ballard, who has the distinction of being the only SI author I've ever actually met. Chris is a good guy who doesn't seem the type to force someone into a gotcha moment. Plus, he had another quote from Rodgers in his article:
"I find if you don't get stuff out, it will tear you up."
So Rodgers is likely to say whatever is on his mind. Probably not a great idea for a 24 year old guy who is talking to an SI reporter.

Brett Favre ad nauseum
The only reason why I really hate this guy now is because of what happens to the main outlet of t.v., radio, internet sports coverage known as ESPN. Any talk of a superstar and it gets over saturated by the ESPN network and every other sports talk venue out there. Maybe my hatred should be w/ESPN but in light of recent UN-retirements like Roger Clemens my anger still resides more w/the person than the network.
I don’t want to hear excuses: “Oh, I felt pressured into retiring. Oh, I don’t “think” I have it in me anymore…Oh wait a minute…Yes I do. I don’t feel like reporting to camp. I’m beyond camp. Practice? We talkin bout practice?”
Whatever the case may be, retire and be done w/it. Also, the manner in which Brett Favre contacted the Packers organization is beyond pathetic! A damn text message? Save that crap for your kids and the mall! You are part of a huge business empire and you contact a component of the NFL via a text message?
I guess thtat’s what a Mississippi education gets ya these days.
