Tavaris Jackson Relegated to Clipboard Duty, Dry Cleaning

I know we all kinda thought this might happen.  But week 3?  Yikes.  Tavaris Jackson has been pulled in favor of backup Gus Frerotte for the remainder of the season.

Here's a quote for you:

"I'm just not seeing right now the aggressiveness from Tarvaris that I saw throughout the offseason, training camp, the two preseason games that he played in," Childress said. "And part of it may be experience. I know Gus will give us that. And I know his approach will also lend itself to that."

In short, Tavaris Jackson is out, Gus Frerotte is in, and Childress kind of looks like a fool.  Two weeks ago, Tavaris Jackson was the man.  Now, he's backing up a career journeyman whose best years were 96-98 with the Redskins.  And even those years weren't great ones.

Still, Frerotte can manage an offense, even if his judgement leaves something to be desired.  I guess this makes the question worth asking: are the Vikings better after this decision?
