CB Harris Might be out for season..
This in no way shape or form would be a good thing for our defense, but it is being reported on ESPN that Al Harris has a ruptured spleen and could miss the rest of the season if this is true. Its looking pretty good that this is the case based on the article, but we can always hope. If this is true though this could be a tough loss on the defense that already has Woodson nursing a broken toe.

For a quick update on this..
I just read on ESPN bottomline that Harris is looking for a 2nd opinion on the injury. So we’ll hopefully know more in the next day or two.

Sad for 'ol Al...
Wow. This is potentially career-threatening…going on IR at age 33/34 is just terrible. (Not that its definite A Harris is going on IR) Probably the player we could LEAST afford to lose, along with Chuck Woodson. I know Tramon got burned badly on that long TD, but he actually covered TOwens in the 2nd half some of the time and he did a good job. And Will Blackmon can make plays. But I think the proverbial parascope is up, as TT will be looking at the scrap heap for a corner or possibly even make a trade for one.
Where is Frank Walker when you need him? (kidding)

Hrm.
Coming here from ArrowHead Pride, and there are musings about you all trading Brohm for Pat Surtain and Damon Huard…
What do you all think about that? Would work well for both teams for the season, especially if Harris goes out.

Thats an interesting read there.
It would be something to look at and I’m sure that Thompson is already searching for someone to either replace Harris with or looking for someone to be a good backup.

Pat Surtain?
No thank you. I think King Carl is stuck with him.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Oops
I step away for a day, things are really busy for me right now, and I miss a major injury. Harris is done. He’ll have surgery to repair, if that’s even possible, or remove his spleen. He can come back and play again, like QB Chris Simms, but to miss a season at his age is a major problem for him.
I didn’t see him on the field in the 2nd half, apparently because he had his helmet taken away by the trainer.
The bad news is that rookie 2nd round pick CB Pat Lee will no longer be inactive, he’ll have a role as the 4th CB, and he did not look ready this preseason. But since the 4th CB doesn’t play a lot, until another injury hits, this by itself is not a big problem. Harris isn’t the same CB he was three years ago. His play has slipped, and he draws a lot of penalties. The Packers secondary is one of the most penalized in the league. Losing Harris doesn’t help, but his loss alone won’t have a huge impact on the secondary.

Is he still on the roster or did he get cut?
