Football Outsiders on Aaron Rodgers
QB Aaron Rodgers came in ranked No. 9 among all QBs in Week 6. As good as he was, the 5 sacks are counted against him, and he basically sat out the 4th quarter (or more accurately practiced his handoffs). From Football Outsiders:
Aaron Rodgers didn't pad his stats; after a third-quarter sack and fumble, he threw only one pass in the fourth quarter, an interception. A more important question: What's up with Greg Jennings? We thought the star wideout would have a big game against the Lions, but Jennings only ended up with 38 yards on six catches in eight attempts. Our theory: Rodgers is struggling to get the protection he needs to allow Jennings to run double moves and get open downfield.

Rogers needs protection
Its the same ole thing no matter who they bring in for players. Rogers need more protection for passing as well as just handing off. They are still charging right in there on him. Get that front line to fess up and start to clean up the sloppy play. We could be in a good spot for playoffs if they can just get that front line straightened out so Rogers can work his magic.

agreed
The D when healthy like last week looked pretty good. And should only get better with more PT. The thing that is holding us back right now is the O. I think this group of guys can get us through the season but they need to man up and compete to do that. If they can we can be a very dangerous team late in the season and hopefully get in and make some noise in the playoffs.
Rodgers is a great QB! I dont really care who ranks him this high or that high. He simply needs some time back there to allow his recievers to get open. Like someone said a few weeks ago when teams are getting after you only rushing 4 they are able to drop 7 to cover at most 5 guys but more like 2-3 for the struggling protection. The OL needs to step up or those 5 guys will cost the season for the team not Rodgers not the D…

Why on earth do sacks count against the QB in their ranking?
That’s completely asinine. What, is the QB supposed to avoid the sacks with his masterful protection calls at the line?
Sacks against is an important offensive stat, for evaluating the whole offense. However, it shouldn’t be a measure of performance at the QB position.

Same reason that passes which hit the receiver in the chest, bounce out, and then get intercepted go against a QB. QB’s need some sort of Unearned Run like pitchers get.

Hard to blame Rodgers
It’s unfair that Rodgers takes the blame for his sacks this season, it’s not his style of play that is causing the sacks. I think it’s because their research has shown that QBs usually have a consistent number of sacks season, no matter how much personnel turnover there is or if they change teams. Kurt Warner has taken a lot of hits where ever he’s played because he doesn’t move at all, so he deserves some blame for that. Big Ben takes a lot of sacks because he tries to extend plays more than other QBs, so he loses points for it, but gains them when he finds Hines Ward on a deep crossing route.

maybe a good point on Jennings
but if he really doesnt have enough time, the adjustment to shorter routes could’ve been made after one game.
I just dont know what to think on him anymore
Kind of a shame the Rockies aren't around to win it for Balloon Boy
