Around SBN: Explaining Jeremy Lin's Early, Surprising Success

Signing Ahman Green

Well it seems too me that this team has it's priority all confused! Green has experience, but hes in no condition too help this mess! maybe as a running backs coach. Man these guys need more help then the team has too offer! If you want too contend there gonna have too go out and sign some real available free agents, spend some money man they can spend some money for guys out there no other teams have the need for them and these guys are looking for that next opportunity too make a come back! The Packers offensive line is worse then a high school teams! Man what has happened too the coaching in this franchise? Lombardi would snap over this stuff going on, and for MM what happened too his coaching skills or is it TT screwing it all up for us in Packer land? I'm sick of stressing over whether  we are gonna lose or win! we should be out there beating teams down! And for Dom Capers he has failed this team as well, you might as well just let the def go out and play there game as they know it, it might work out better and for converting a pro bowl DE Kampman inti a line backer you have lost your marbles I could coach this team man! I'm sick of being let down! Figure it out and get that off line together theirs guys on the team that are dieing too play and make an impact if not a name, I blame the Coaches and the TT for whats going on, you guys messed up that team and Packer fans and the players are paying for it Thanks for nothing! Not too mention, we should ask where the Heart of these players have gone!

What the heck

It takes up the 3 years to implement the 3-4 Defense! Capers did not fail this team, you cannot say that until after Year 3. Any true football fan knows that! It is nearly impossible to convert a 4-3 defense into a 3-4 defense successfully over night. Is Kampmann a natural LB? No, should have we traded him while we had the chance? Yes. However, what about Cullen Jenkins, Clay Mathews, Brandon Chillar, Ryan Pickett, BJ Raji, Johnny Jolly, and Atari Bigby? Those guys are all better suited to play in the 3-4. That’s half of our defense!!!!!!

As for Ahman Green, I agree, it’s a bad sign. However, if they plan on releasing Wynn, then it is a good signing. It was a huge mistake from the beginning in releasing Tyrell Sutton and Anthony Smith. Those were devastating blows to the team this season, I agree.

Seriously?

Real free agents? How many free agents have the Colts and Steelers signed that were REAL free agents? Nobody builds championship teams with REAL free agents, just look at the Redskins, Eagles and Raiders. The Green signing is kicking the tires and seeing if he has a few flashes left, Wynn is gone for the year and Jackson is still going to be the backup so what the heck. If it doesn’t work out he will be cut in a couple of weeks anyways to find another 53rd man for the roster.

This team is built to finish the year strong when the schedule becomes the most difficult. Championship teams always have flaws at the beginining of the season and build to the finish. The O-line is bad now but will improve with a consistant lineup that has 5 healthy guys whoever they may be. The defense will improve with reps as Capers figures out how to put his best players in their best places (Kampman with the hand down, Mathews being a beast, Bigby being Bigby).

On a seperate note I am sick of every conversation becoming a bash Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy post. Keep those posts to Thompson/McCarthy posts and keep this Ahman Green and how he can or cannot help this team. Packer fans as a whole are the most respectful, intelligent, passionate fans in the league its time that we start acting like it!

Yes I'm from Chi-Town!

I’ll tell you this, I love the Packers and living here being a Packer fan is great when I can talk down on the Bears! But you know that the Team needs too get it together! How can you have such a great camp and preseason but fumble in the regular? I know theres changes and a lot of growing going on, I’m almost willing to come play G/orT for the team! To have all this worked out should have come in the preseason and camp not to mention a bye week! I know I sound ***hole like but I want a winning team!

Wait for it...

If you want a winning team, than you should be excited about the team that TT has built. The Packers are the youngest team in the league. Yes, we are heavily penalized, but it’s part of the tradeoff. Where will the Vikings be in two years? I’ll tell you: at the bottom of the division. The Bears will be struggling to replace that ancient defense, and truthfully, the Lions will probably be number two in the division. The Packers are bult for sucess. It’s our quarterback’s 2nd year starting, and we just implemented the defense of the future. We have young players to build around: Matthews, Rodgers, Raji, Jennings, Finley.. etc. This is going to be a team that dominates the division for at least 3-5 years. I believe we’re taking the steps that a franchise must take to be highly competitive year in and year out. High dollar players are not the answer right now. (I won’t even touch the salary cap issue) Be faithful, and stick with it. You’re not the only one living behind enemy lines. I go to school in St. Paul/Minneapolis and live here all year. Try being a Packer fan here, with ol’ Purple Jesus leading the Queens to #1 in the division. It’s tough, I know, but we are headed up, and the Bears and Vikings are headed down.

Patience

I agree with StephanL This team is a work in progress. A true team relies on chemistry not superstars aka: Patriots. If the Favre thing doesn’t work out the Vikings program will be behind for years to come. The Bears, See Kyle Orten. Right now I think Green is a good idea considering our situation and it’s only 1 year deal, hell maybe we’ll see the screen play more often. Hell I saw a flea Flicker on Sunday I did’nt Know that play was in our playbook. If we can get Cliffton and Toucher back good things could happen. Rodgers is putting up good numbers considering the time he gets. Maybe a good run game would help alot. I think this team needs some of that good old chemistry and could get better as the season goes on.

Can you say ignorant?

This guy is an embarassment to all of the Packer loyal across the country. His screen name should be “as smart as a pitbul” If you have 11 fingers, then you have too many. To write as he wrote, he must have struggled through third grade for about nine years. Ahman will help the team, as will Tauscher. Will it be enough at the end is the question we should be asking. I personally think that it will, but still would have rather seen a trade for Stephen Jackson. The Pack goes 12-4 and wins the tie breaker with the Queens for the division!!!! Go Pack go!!
