Jennings hasn’t done too well with responding to being double-teamed all the time. This has happened to a lot of young receivers after they become well-known.

Donnie D is also amazing at catching and running with the ball. Any other receiver on this team would’ve gotten tackled at the 5 or 30, where he made moves to elude the defender.

My problem with the penalties on the Packers is that...

they seem to snowball. They have penalties that really hurt their own drives and keep the opposing offense on the field. Penalties are keeping drives alive longer than they should, and it is hurting.

I posted on the Steelers site yesterday that I hoped the Vikings lost...

… and that a Favre injury wouldn’t break my heart, and the reaction I got was similar to that Sinead Oconnor got when she tore up the picture of the pope on SNL.

So I’m going to behave myself now.

Just looked at the comments. My goodness.

Took more than a little offense at you saying you hoped Pittsburgh would win, eh?

I think it's the 50th anniversary of the start of the AFL.

So the original AFL teams (Patriots, Titans, Jets, Bills, Chargers, Chiefs, Raiders, and, unfortunately, Broncos) are wearing their original uniforms when they first started as teams.

Not sure, but that is my guess.

Almost all of them are horrible.

Except for the powder blue jerseys the Chargers wear in throwback mode.

I would have liked to have seen the Broncos wear the old "Orange Crush" uniforms, though.

Those at least were pretty.

This just in:

The Bears hired replacements in their defense, and gave them their regular uniforms.

I have not seen a team run on them like this for a long time.

i’m a browns fan, but i got into watching the packers last year. i don’t consider myself a “fan”, but i will cheer for them when they don’t play the browns. that being said, good game and i hope aaron rodgers & co. kicks the vikings butt next week. if i could pick a team to win the SB this year (besides the browns), it would definitely be the packers. exciting, fun team to watch and loyal fans. good luck with the rest of your season!

They need to clean house.

New GM, new coach, change the decor in their facilities, the whole deal. There just is something that isn’t right with the Browns. When Wolf took over the Packers in late 91, he fired everybody, had the locker room and practice facilities repainted, brought in a new personnell staff, then Holmgren, then a coaching staff, and then started turning over the roster like crazy. There was a lot of talk about “changing the culture”. They even briefly entertained the idea of changing the uniforms to the old blue/gold color scheme the team used about 60 years ago. They dealt for a QB and ran Edgar Bennett so many times he couldn’t help but hit 1000yds just so people would stop talking about how GB hadn’t had a 1000 yd rusher since 1978. One by one, they attacked every negative fact, impression or record and got rid of them. They went 9-7 in 92 and people were thrilled. They went 9-7 in 93 and we were already wondering why they didn’t make the playoffs. When they went 9-7 in 94 and won a playoff game, no one thought of the Packers as loveable losers anymore. It took 3 years, but it happened.

I think the Browns need something similar. When people (and I suspect players) think of the Browns right now they thing of staph infections, disgruntled players, losing seasons and Brady on the bench. I don’t that will change until the people that remember those events inside the organization are gone.

good post. i wasn’t too thrilled with the mangini hire, but he is inheriting a mess. gotta have some patience with him. the browns have 11 picks and counting in this draft. they will be definitely drafting a qb, and i pray to god that they make the right decision on that one for once.
