AFL Throwback Uniforms

This is simple. As many of us here have observed, the original eight AFL teams (Buffalo Bills, Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, New England Patriots, Oakland Raiders, New York Jets, San Diego Chargers, and Tennessee Titans) are wearing their throwback uniforms.

These are the uniforms the teams wore when they began play in 1960.

In your opinion, which throwback uniforms were your favorites? And which uniforms did you like the least? Also, are there any throwback uniforms which you would rather have seen the teams wear (besides the 1960 uniforms)?

Those Oilers uniforms were the best, IMO.

I can't explain why

but I like the Patriots retro uni’s a bunch. But my favorite has got to be the Chargers

The Denver Unis are HIDEOUS

Whoever thought that brown and yellow go well together should be shot. I am amused by the vertically-striped socks though…especially when guys don’t pull them up straight and end up with the pinwheel effect.

Patriots all the way

I love that miniute man in the football stance on the side of the helmet. Those uniforms are mean mama jammers!

sick of em

Honestly they are fun but all the throwbacks are getting old. I don’t mind if the colors are the same but when the Broncos come out rocking Steelers colors, its really confusing. I know its technically brown and yellow (yuck) but it looks like black and yellow. I like the throwbacks for a game or two a year but its like EVERY game and it takes away from it being cool.

I liked the striped socks

the Broncs were wearing. I tought it was old school and classy. I enjoy earth tones so I liked the Broncos the best.

Always liked the Chargers powder blue.

The Patriots are also good. Both teams should go back to those over the ones they wear now.

I'm a fan of anything with Powder blue.

I’d love to see the Brewers break out their old early-80’s blue road unis for a promotion sometime.

Bills, Patriots, and Oilers (Titans)

There is just something about the throwbacks that makes me feel like a kid again. I was grew up in the 80’s and got to enjoy the “classic NFL” logos and unis. To me there was nothing better than the Dreamsicle orange of Tampa Bay, or the royal blue helmets of the Bronco dawning the bold “D” with a bronco charging thru it. Pat the Patriot intrigued me from the first time I saw it. I was immediately a Patriots fan. They lost me in the mid 90’s when they changed their unis and of course when they met the Packers in the Super Bowl. If I had to choose from the 60’s uniforms it would be the Patriots, Bills, and Oilers for sure.
