Inactives
From NFL.com:
Hall, Giordiano, Giacomini, Spitz, Nelson, Finley, Wynn, Thompson. Unfortunately Finley couldn’t go after all.
For MN, their WRs Reynaud and Berrian are out, so their thin at the position.

Too nervous about the game. Plus, the whole up-since-2-AM thing is catching up with me.

when I see the replay showing T.J. Lang holding outside of ALlen’s shoulderpads. It could be a flag-happy day on the left side of the line today.

Yep.
Bad series for Rodgers there, but I’m not a fan of the playcalling either. The screen call was ok, but they read it.

by Ted Simmons Speed Camp on Nov 1, 2009 3:31 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Agreed
screens on 3rd and a mile are a horrible call in my opinion. Better for our team to throw a quick slant and let Driver or Jennings work with open space to get the first or better yardage. Grant’s not a quick enough back to run that really well.

Ok,
I’m a Rodgers-lover, but some of his throws make me think that he’s more rattled by today’s emotions than the opposing QB is.

Not gonna argue on that one
He’s trying for too much, too early. A couple of quick slants to get some rhythm, and then go for the home run…

So let's review the miscues
1. Can’t convert a short field into a TD. Should be 7-0
2. Can’t get off the field without headbutting someone. Should be 7-3.
3. Vikings score, should be 7-10
4. Another friggen penalty, we should be running a kickoff back right now down by 6.

Yeah.
I guess they’re performance against Pittsburgh wasn’t a fluke after all. They’re giving them lots of help by playing a Tampa 2 and dropping the LBs into the throwing lanes, but the corners are holding up well, and we don’t have a TE that can split the field without Finley.

It’s the hype. Plain and simple, the storylines have run this game from before the season ever started. If there wasn’t so goddam much riding on this game, I wouldn’t care. If this was our 3rd loss in 1968, I wouldn’t care. But this is Favre vs. the Packers at Lambeau. OMFG!
Ya know what – ta hell with it. We’re losing. Hopefully that’ll stop, but if not, then we stop thinking about it and play the next 9 games the way we know we can.

You know what
I would love to see Rodgers lead the amazing down by three touchdown comeback against Favre, the biggest game of his life.
But we all know that is very unlikely to happen. This game just proves how far apart the gap is between teams that are good like the Packers, Niners, Bears, Chargers and the teams that are truly great like the Vikings and Colts.
by vitaminx on Nov 1, 2009 5:06 PM CST reply actions 0 recs
I wonder just how close Rodgers is to having a nervous breakdown
I mean, the guy shows no emotion in public, despite the enormous pressure on him (yes, there’s still pressure on him). Combined with the “protection”, the drops, the receivers not getting open, and the playcalling, I’m just waiting for him to walk to the sideline, fling his helmet to the ground, and sit on the bench while shaking his head in disgust.
Of course, he hasn’t played all that well today himself, so I’m sure at least some of that disgust is self-directed.
