Early Game Open Thread
The Green Bay Packers are the late game on FOX. The best early game should be the Bengals at Steelers. What early games are you watching?

Stuck with Jets/Jaguars and Falcons/Panthers here in Boston.
Probably won’t watch until 4.
88-74 - Giants Series Record: 28-18-5, 19-7 at home.
Adopted Giant: Daryl "Dealio" Maday - Not reassigned after all. Still a mediocre AA pitcher.

Same here in Marblehead (MA represent!)
I’m watching ATL/CAR only cause T-Gon is on my fantasy team.

Huh.
I’m watching Lions-Vikings, I somehow get that game instead of Falcons-Panthers.
The other option is, as you said, Jaguars-Jets.
And then, at 4 pm, I get Cowboys-Packers … it’s the only game I get.

I have the honor
of working from 7PM to 5AM. So I will be sleeping throughout the day.

Watching Redzone...
Stuck with Jacksonville-Jets and Tampa-Miami here in Jacksonville Florida. Terrible living here when a Packers game is scheduled at the same time as the Jags home game. Even if a Packers game is supposed to be televised the blackouts keep it off TV…

I think the Jags are playing now,
On a different network, no less. The Packers should be on FOX at 4 PM.

Watching the Vikes
It’s 10-3 Vikings going into half. Vikings have 300+ yards already but AP has 2 fumbles haha. Unfortunately, this is the only game on tv for me. Which is disappointing considering the Steelers-Bengals and Falcons-Panthers are playing.

Yeah, I wish I could see Bengals-Steelers.
That is, until tonight (Colts-Patriots), the best game this week, IMO.

OT: How long has the Metrodome been called "Mall of America Field"?

Hard to say
I used to know the names of all the fields, before corproate naming rights, and even knew some of the ones that were no longer around (like Kezar Stadium in SF); now, I have no desire to know them, so I pay no attention and, ten minutes after them, I couldn’t tell you what they are.

Knew what you meant.
The Vikings have turned the cheers to boos in the stadium.

It became "Mall of America Field" soon after the season started.

quick question
how well would the Packers be doing if they picked up Benson before the Bengals?
My answer: Not at all, because McCarthy hates running the ball
id rather have a 24 year old (human years) dog that has advanced parkinson’s batting for our team than vlad.

jinx!
Frye is honestly gotta be one of the top 10 3rd Stringers in all of the NFL right now--colbyb

Benson was a FA. We know our stance on that, unfortunately

true, but
A: he was worth basically nothing
B: Thompson has shown that he values on field production over behavior (he considered signing Vick)
C: we need a running back
oh well, 20/20 hindsight

don't get it
Honestly, the great teams are all great at passing the ball… New orlens, indy, new england… having a running back stud isn’t that important. the difference is that our offensive can’t PASS protect…if they could, we could be easily 5 and 3 or 6 and 2.
by PackFaninFL on Nov 15, 2009 2:59 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
absolutely,
but having a top 5 back, is a real nice luxury.

Why is that...
…everyone focuses disproportionally on skilled position players? is it because the camera zooms in on skill position players when they have the ball…if the camera focused on the Oline, maybe our emphasis on what’s right/wrong would change.

Apparently Tampa Bay doesn't just beat us.
The Bucs just took a 23-22 lead in Miami.
