OT: Bills fire Dick Jauron
The Buffalo Bills have fired Dick Jauron after a 3-6 start, just after being routed by the previously weak Tennessee Titans.
I can imagine that the Bills have not lived up to their own expectations. With the addition of Terrell Owens, and Trent Edwards, their offense was supposed to carry the team.
Instead, Jauron becomes the first coach dismissed during this NFL season. He 24-33 as a Buffalo Bills coach.
Buffalo's new coach will be Perry Fewell, who has never coached at all. He was previously Buffalo's defensive coordinator.
Any ideas as to what Jauron will do now? Also, any ideas as to which other coaches are on the hot seat and could be fired within the next few weeks?

Bills certainly didn't live up to MY expectations
their my second favorite team. Obviously Jim Zorn will be fired at some point but he and Tom Cable are actually good bets to make it to the end of the season before they get fired. No one in our division will be fired (not head coaches at least). Kubiak is supposedly fired if his team misses the playoffs again but I for one think they’ll get there. Who knows about Norv Turner. Fox, Fisher, and Del Rio are candidates to be let go at the end of the season.

The only reason I’m not sure if Cable will get fired is if Al Davis can’t find a cause to fire him so he won’t have to pay him. There are a myriad of reasons that he should get canned but Al Davis has a history of trying to find ways to weasel out of paying a guy he’s fired.
Fisher is a lock to stay, imo. Zorn is a lock to be gone. Fox should definitely be canned cause I have never been impressed with him at all. I could go on and on detailing why but that’s another matter for another day. As for Turner and Del Rio, they’ll have to see how their seasons finish out.
Frye is honestly gotta be one of the top 10 3rd Stringers in all of the NFL right now--colbyb

All Packer fans
should route for the Bills just a little bit for obvious reasons. They’re probably my third favorite team just behind the Chiefs.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Definitely
Cable probably won’t make the year. Zorn, I think, will survive until the end of the year then be canned. Mangini, is probably gone when the new GM (Holmgren?) steps in. And lastly, just a feeling, John Fox will be let go at the end of the year and replaced with Billy the Chin.

Forgot about Mangenius, thanks
It just seems like he’s already been fired doesn’t it?

I think Lovie....
I live by the WI IL state lines and know a ton of bear fans that all think he wiil be gone at the end of the season. I would agree with them in some areas. He has been calling the defensive plays and well their D has been awful!

Michael Lombardis
always saying the Bears have trouble simply lining up in the right defense. Thats pretty damning to Lovie’s reputation as a good defensive coordinator. It’s really quite shocking how poor Lovie’s defense has been just based on his time in St. Louis and his first couple years in Chicago.

Here's the problem
Lovie’s got a nice fat contract. He’ll be fired at the end of next year at the earliest. He may not be a good coach, but they haven’t given him good players to work with recently either. Bears are essentially in crisis right now, can’t compete but can’t rebuild.

Contracts..
they have never stopped teams from firing coaches before. The bears may be in bigger problems next year than this year Urlacher is a FA. I cant remember if Briggs signed an etension or if he is just playing with the franchise tag. So he my also become a FA and I am sure there are many more becoming FAs. Now if that was true I would think the bears would want to start new with everything. They are an older team and need to rebuild IMO. So I think for a team to rebuild it starts with the coach.

Briggs is on like a 6-year contract or something
so they’re likely to franchis Urlacher. The question is not whether other teams will can them when they’re under contract it’s whether the cheap-ass bears will. I guess he’s making like 12 million a year or something.

hehe, as a Chicago area resident who reads about the bears alot in the newspapers
I cackle to think how Cutlers career will be wasted surrounded by the crap the Bears put around him
See, this is what happens when the Sox bunt.

I'm not so sure
why anyone has ever thought that Cutler is a talent to begin with. Some people are accusing Rodgers of being a stat guy who can’t win games when they have to look no further than Jay Cutler for the definition of this type of player. He’s got a big arm, true, but has he ever won at all?

Good point
The play by play guys for the Packers game talked about this today a bit. It’s crazy that so many people wnated to point out Rodgers inability to win games. It’s like people forget he was in his first year playing and had damn near close to failing units around him.

I am going to ditto Double D
except that the Bills are not my second favorite team. :P
I expected Jauron, Zorn, and MM to be on a very hot seat. The interesting thing is that there are a lot of good coaches out there, but are going to need a whole lot of money to make them change their mind.
