Friday Injury Report: 49ers at Packers
It's a long list for each team this week. The Green Bay Packers have 17 players listed, and the 49ers 13. But most of the injuries are not serious, and nearly everyone is expected to play.
For the Packers, it's been a rough week of practice. Both RT Allen Barbre and OL Evan Dietrich-Smith were injured during practice, and I'm not expecting either of them to play. C Scott Wells reported a concussion on Wednesday, though the injury likely happened during the game last Sunday. Mike McCarthy expects Wells will start. RB Ahman Green injured his groin late Thursday during practice, and it's not clear whether he'll play. Every other player should be available to play, including three guys who didn't play last week: LB Brandon Chillar, TE Jermichael Finley, and RT Mark Tauscher.
Tauscher will start the game, but he will rotate with OL T.J. Lang, depending on Tauscher's endurance.
For the Niners, only CB Nate Clements and LT Joe Staley are out. Those are two of their big name players, but they missed last week's game too. Fooch said their replacements have played really well. The only other player who could miss the game is LB Takeo Spikes who's day-to-day with a hamstring injury.
Overall, both teams are relatively healthy and injuries shouldn't play a major role. The complete injury list for both teams is after the jump.

Interesting how
Scott Wells gets a concussion and he’s fine to play, but Kampman gets one and he gets a week off to get healthy.
I guess if you’re an underachieving second string center (although former starter) you get less consideration than an underachieving linebacker (although former Pro Bowler at the DE position). Especially on this team.

there are degrees of concussion
Wells might be mild and Kampman more severe.

It might have more to do with degrees of capable backups at their positions

Just who is Wells backup?

I think it was going to be Evan Dietrich-Smith
And then Colledge, IIRC.
Which is why I’m hoping it was a “mild” concussion and they’re not just rushing him out there.
What was with Kendall's shaved head?....looks like a fist with eyes.

Correction: Jason Kendall IS a fist with eyes.

As a 49er fan
The only thing that makes me feel good about this game is that Brett “Mother Fing” Farve is not your QB. Thank GOD!!! That would be an automatic win for you guys

Yeah Right
If you’re a 49er fan do you not remember your secondary dropping four interceptions against the Vikings that would’ve wrapped up the game in the third quarter? Favre had a really bad game against you guys until the last pass so I’ll go out and a very thick limb and say Rodgers puts up way better numbers and gets the win.

Fantasy writer
GG, are you prone to exagerration or just a fantasy writer?
Favre had a really bad game against you guys until the last pass
24 of 47, 300+ yards and two TDs is hardly a really bad game. Maybe you should begin all your posts with “Once Upon A Time”.

Nice
You’re now searching out my posts in different threads to comment to me. I’m glad you feel I’m that important.
Favre only completed 50% of his passes and you forgot to mention the interception that actually counted as well as the four interceptions that were dropped by the 49ers poor secondary. If you watched the entire game like I did, there is no possible way you could possibly think Favre had a good game. You can count on a CB or safety dropping a pick in most games but the 49ers dropped four of them.
So you’re telling me Favre throwing for 50% with multiple interception opportunities for the 49ers and 1 TD until the final lucky pass was a good game? And if you look at his yards per completion you can see that most of his completed passes were short screens and dink and dunks. And finally, my original comment was that Rodgers would have a better game and guess what? He did! Rodgers had better stats in the first half behind his awesome offensive line than Favre had the entire game against the 49ers so child please…

Don't flatter yourself GG
No searching – just reading. I already posted why you are dead wrong about Favre’s pass being lucky in the 5 Questions With Niners Thread. I even attached a couple of links to videos on NFL.com so that other objective readers would also see why you are wrong. Forget the drivel about 4 passes woulda coulda shoulda. I schooled you on that thread and I’ll school you here too. First off I don’t agree there were four passes like that, and second dropped INTs are just another incomplete pass. Aaron Rodgers has had as many bad passes as Favre this year. Aaronhas less TDs, more INTs and a lower QB rating too. There’s not a lot of other things to discuss unless you want to hang on to the ridiculousness of Aaron having an 8.2 yard per attempt average vs Brett’s 8.0 y/a. That’s a whole 7.2 inches more per attempt! 300 yards passing, 2 TDs and 1 INT are not stats that represent a really bad game. It’s only because of your man-hate for Favre that you go out of your way to create that impression. End of that story.
After your rants and name calling on the 5 Questions post I thought you had the junior high school crap out of your system. But now this?
…so child please…
LOL! Are you turning into Aunt Jemima?

You schooled me?
Wow you are amazing. You brought up Ryan Pickett’s stats as a NT and you say you schooled me. You compared in injured 3-4 DE/NT to an OLB stats so you schooled me? You state the Cushing is much better than Raji and Matthews when Raji basically didn’t even play the first half of the season and Matthews didn’t start the first month yet Matthews has been rookie of the week twice and Cushing hasn’t received that honor once.
Plus I don’t care if you disagree with my four dropped interceptions. I have it on my DVR for goodness sake. Go watch the game. They dropped four interceptions. There is no arguement there. In response to the Favre and Rodgers stats: when you combine rushing (which is a big part of the game) Rodges actually has 22 TD’s and Favre has 21 TD’s. Rodgers also has 3,030 total yards and Favre has 2,479 total yards. Rodgers also is doing this all behind a terrible offensive line with a below average running back. Favre is doing this behind a good offensive line with the best running back in the league. Shall we continue?
by GGGamer on Nov 24, 2009 4:47 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Rodgers is in the top 5 in every passing and rushing statistics for a QB, he’s in his second year starting, and he’s playing behind a horrid offensive line without a run game. You could probably say he’s doing better than pretty good.
Favre’s experience is unquestioned and he went to a ready made veteran football team. With the perfect situation Favre is in as a veteran QB and the disjointed situation Rodgers is in as a young QB, Rodgers still is just as good or better statistically in just about every category except passer rating where he still is over 100. I’m grinning just thinking about it.
by GGGamer on Nov 24, 2009 6:25 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Right now, Brett is the higher rated QB. Take your argument up with the NFL.
BTW, I am sure you and your DVR are very happy together.
by Belarus on Nov 24, 2009 8:47 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Do you know how to read?
I said Favre has a higher passer rating but Rodgers is still in the top 5 at over 100 as well. Take it up with the NFL? Or maybe you should learn how to read.
P.S. your joke about being happy with my DVR just isn’t funny at all. I actually give people I’m arguing with props for having a good argument or making a funny joke/comment and you haven’t gotten either.

Quit
I posted that a LB and NT comparison was invalid in my original post LONG before you posted this. Now you are here running your mouth like I didn’t realize that and you had to point it out. Look, I gave you other comparisons that were in my original post like how a 3rd round NT pick, and an undrafted NT pick were both outplaying Raji so far this season. Yeah, I schooled you, and never even called you a name doing it. Deal with it.
by Belarus on Nov 24, 2009 8:52 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
You sound like Skip Bayless
He almost never wins an argument and he thinks he wins every single one of them. If you didn’t think a LB and NT was a good comparison, why did you compare the two in the first place?
And now your saying you are comparing a 3rd round NT and an undrafted NT to Raji. Both Desmond Bryant and Terrance Knighton are 4-3 DT’s who aren’t injured and have played in every single game. What don’t you understand about B.J. Raji number one playing in a 3-4 defense where his only job is to occupy lineman, number two only have two weeks of camp, number three having a high ankle sprain that isn’t even healed yet, and number four playing more than 20 snaps in his first game of the season on Sunday due to his high ankle sprain? And neither one of those guys even has a full sack under their belts in schemes where they get to rush the passer. Raji got a full sack in his first extended action of the season on Sunday.
Do we need to go over the difference between NT’s, 3-4 DE’s, 4-3 DT’s and so on because I still don’t think you understand the differences. Comparing a 3-4 d-lineman to a 4-3 d-lineman is like comparing a CB to a safety. The both play on the same line like CB’s and safety’s both play in the secondary but they do completely different things. You obviously still don’t understand the difference.
by GGGamer on Nov 24, 2009 11:02 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Desmond Bryant
is a backup 4-3 DT that still has stats superior to Raji. 10 game in and 13 tackles for BJ. He’s a bust so far.
by Belarus on Nov 24, 2009 11:22 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
He's a bust so far
because he’s still getting over a high ankle sprain? You won’t take any excuses though so I don’t know what to say.
Antoine Winfield really sucked the last couple of weeks because he was injured. That is your logic right there.

So please respond to my comments in the 5 questions with niners thread
because if anyone got schooled it would be you. I just don’t know how you’re gonna defend comparing and 4-3 OLB with a 3-4 NT. You might as well compare an offensive and defensive player because it’s about that different.
by GGGamer on Nov 24, 2009 4:49 PM CST up reply actions 0 recs
Funny how I offered that a LB and NT comparison was invalid
so I gave you other comparisons that were LONG in my original post. Now you are here running your mouth like I didn’t realize that and you had to point it out. Kind of nerdy, don’t you think?

The funny thing
about that comment, “our discussion is done,” is that you use it everytime. You always have the last word and then just leave, but you act like a safisticated fan when you really aren’t. You tried to sound nice but came off as a dick when we were discussing the first Packers/Vikings game and then instead of saying good game even though you won you replied to a post of mine that was submitted a week earlier and said blah blah blah blah blah, we won, take that. Real mature. If your team wins or loses you show respect to the other side, but not you. You’re the one who sounded like a middle schooler that day my friend.

I have to come back
I have never used that line before. If I have, find it, post it, or shut up. You can’t do that because it is just not true. You are a delusional poster who says anything, no matter how untrue to justify your posts. I am not the first person to tell you that you invent things, make up things, and put words into other people’s mouths. Now you come back with my comments to you as what? Insults to me? You aren’t even intelligent enough to be original. You are truly a pathetic person.

Huh?
Your activity only goes back like two weeks so how am I suppose to find it, post it, or shut up? If you show me how I can go back to the posts during that time of the first Vikings Packers game, I will be extremely glad to find your childish post that you sent to me and post it right here.
Plus the only other poster I’ve ever had a problem with is ktenreb and just about everyone on here has a problem with his Rodgers hating Favre loving self. So actually yes, you are the first person to say I just make up untrue statements and invent things. In reality a bunch of people have come to my side in the past when commenting you and about three others agreed with me when I said you have no idea about the Packers. Remember that or am I supposedly making that up as well? You are trully crazy my friend.

Here it is you liar
Losing more credibility Belarus. You deny it and then say I make up stuff and I found it. Next time try to cover your ground cause your gonna look stupid like you do now.
I rest my case Favre is a superstar. Rodgers and the Packers are wannabes. And McCarththy and Thompson are grasping. All your blah, blah, blah, GG didn’t mean a thing.
