The Best Defense in the Leauge
The Green Bay Packers defense is now ranked #1 in the NFL. Dom Capers and the coaching staff have taken the woeful defense from a year ago a long way. The scheme change from a 4-3 to a 3-4 alignment washeavily criticized earlier this season when fans were outraged at the 'misuse' of key players like OLB Aaron Kampman and CB Al Harris. With both of these players lost for the season to ACL injuries, the Packers look to maintain their ranking atop the NFL as they ready for tough match-ups against two premier defenses in Pittsburgh and Baltimore.

Defensive showdowns...
The Packer D will have to show up like they have been recently. Surprisingly the team we are copying our D around (Steelers) we have surpassed them. Our run D is 15 yards more than them but our passing D is 200+ yards better than them. The Steelers D got to Flaco 5 times last night and he coughed up the ball twice. I think our D matches up to the Ravens O pretty well. Clayton was the only one with huge numbers last night for the Ravens WRs. But IMO he is not the guy we need to focus on. I think we need to make Ray Rice have a tail the whole night. The guy can be dangerous when he gets the ball in his hands. No matter where he is on the field he can turn it into a big play. Last night he had 88 yards rushing and another 67 receiving.
I think our O will have problems with the Ravens D. Especially if they use the zone blitz that crushed the Steelers hope last night. Eventhough the OL has been playing well and has been getting in a groove together I think something like zone blitzes will confuse them and break them down. However, if the OL can protect Rodgers and we are able to spread it out, the Raven secondary is very shallow in depth. Outside the starters the nickle and dime CBs are not very good. i.e. Frank Walker. If we attack those guys I think it will give us the advantage we need to win. Otherwise this game could be a defensive showdown and come down to STs and if it does I dont like our chances with our STs
Return Men.
The Ravens have a huge advantage here. Webb, I think that’s his name, is an awesome return guy, and we all saw what Carr did last night (almost broke two punt returns).
I think our O will have problems with the Ravens D. Especially if they use the zone blitz that crushed the Steelers hope last night.
I think I actually am hoping they play more aggressive against us. Rodgers does a good job of exploiting blitzes in the seams and in the flats. It also helps him get the ball out quicker. Of course our o-line will have to know their assignments but if they can block a bit for Rodgers I think we could have some success.
Where Rodgers tends to get in trouble more is when teams rush 4 guys and drop 7 into coverage.

If you want to know how to beat the Steelers and Ravens..........
Watch the 4 Bengals games against them. The way I see it you beat the Steelers by keeping Ben in the pocket. He does most of his damage on the run where outside passing lanes open up late. Sacks are great but is is more important to keep him in the pocket and limit his passing lanes. If Troy is in there and healthy the deep ball is your best option. He is most effective on sweeps, crossing routes and eats TEs for lunch. Launch the ball and make sure that any down field pass is missed long if anything. He eats up under thown balls.
As for the Ravens chip away at their D line and frustrate them until they lose patience and start making mistakes. Move the ball sideline to sideline in the beginning of the game. They seemed to get tired and angry which makes them make big mistakes. Run the ball and run the ball in the first half. It will not work at first but thing will open up if you keep pounding. Take what they give you down field but make the DL and LB corps run a lot and work hard. It will pay off in the 2nd half with your QB and WR combination. Play action will open up and it is possible that Rogers willl have a field day in the 4th quarter.
The run D for both of these teams will crack if you don’t just give up on it. Most teams do and that is why they are rated so high. Wear their D out with the run and take advantage of that in the 2nd half. Hey, it worked for us. I will be rooting for you because..well…you know… we don’t like those guys hanging around. They are dangerous.

The Bengals know nothing about beating the Steelers with Troy
You played 1 series against him and that was the opening drive of the second game. Troy is really good in coverage. If you disagree with me you can go watch that pick he had against the Titans. There is a reason we gave up considerably less deep balls last year than this year, ya know…because Troy was healthy.
