Happy Week

I'd like to start by saying that today is a good day to be a Packer fan, seeing how we've won three straight and our team looks very good.  There should be a fun Monday night game this week against another good team that's just a little worse than we are.  But there's been something that was bothering me for the last few weeks.  Our rivals The Vikings have just been playing too damn well (using our leftovers no less), and they won't even do me the service of losing one game.  The loss to the Steelers was some time ago.  Can't I just have ONE perfect football weekend?  I had high hopes for the Bears game after I heard that A.P. might not play.  I thought that maybe Favre would have yet another bad day against Lovie Smith and Peanut Tillman if they were allowed to play actual coverage, something that Favre has yet to face this season.  I though that perhaps Jay Cutler could have a comeback game against a division rival.  But alas, A.P.  played and Da Bears got dominated in every concievable way, and I lost some hope of ever seeing the Vikings lose another game, right up to the Super Bowl.

Star-divide

But then, I looked at the matchups for this coming week.  Instant. Boner.  Vikes-Cards.  As soon as I saw that, I truly remembered who we're talking about.  It all came flooding back.  We're talking about the Vikings.  Yes, those Vikings, the ones who have never EVER won a Super Bowl, the ones who got beaten 41-0 in the last NFC Championship in which they attended, the ones who couldn't even beat the Eagles last year, who's last playoff victory was handed to them on a silver platter by the quarterback who suits up for them now (And that happened SIX years ago or something), the Vikings that we always, just somehow happen to come out on top over.  The ones gave away the division on the final play of the season to the very same Cardinals that they play this week back in 2003.  It's hilarious to think now that I once thought that I could no longer delight in the Vikings misery.  I thought they might go the Super Bowl!  Did you see the Saints tonight?  The Vikes don't have a fireball's chance in the Tundra of beating them.  So I typed this little ditty up to share my joy with all of you, in the realization that no matter what the Vikings record is, they are the Vikings, and thus they just plain suck.  So I'd to take this moment to remember and celebrate that faitful afternoon with some delightful videos from youtube.  I'm sure that we'll be seeing the play on ESPN and during the game, but frankly that's not quite enough for me.

I love this.

Just figured I’d get that in before you get flooded with angry Vikings fans or any other downers.

That’s always been my attitude. They’re the Vikings; they suck. I live in MN for school, and people always ask me about the rivalry. But where I’m from (SE WI), no one cares about the Vikings. They have no Superbowls. They wear purple. They are just not important. A sorry franchise.

I hope we get another shot at the Vikings in the playoffs.

The Vikings have the softest schedule in the NFL

And the three decent teams they have played (San Fran, Pittsburgh, Baltimore) They have won two by a missed field goal, and a last second play, they lost the other. Yes, the Vikings and Favre are highly overrated. The Saints are the best team, and Drew Brees is the MVP. Here;s to another first game exit for our friends in purple.

Great memories. The Vikings are going no where important this year.

The difference between Packers/Bears rivalry, and Packers/Vikings rivalry, is that Packers fans can at least respect the Bears history. With the Vikings…they have no history to respect, and that tradition will continue this year.

Paul Allen’s such a wanker.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Yes I reside in MN also

I was in Wi. with my wife (Viking fan) visiting my reletives(Packer Fans) when we were watching the Vikes-Cards game It was pretty ugly. One other time we were in My sisters bar in Wi. while we they were playing the pats and were up by 21 pts She went out to the Vehicle to get her Vikings sweater and the pats ended up winning (good thing I was there). So she knows all about Viking let downs. But I give her credit she’s not one of those bandwagon fans. And then there’s the Atlana debacle. I agree with CK, the Vikings have rolled up a 10-1 record and big stats against a cupcake schedule. I even include banged up teams like GB in this category. The Saints would do what they do best and that is jump to a two or three score lead and force opponents to abandon the run game and become 1 dimesional. Thats when Favre throws most of his INTs is when he trying to win the game on his own. And now that they added Mckenzie I think they got better defensively. My Saints friend thinks so also. I’ve usually rooted for the Vikes if the Pack was bumped out, but I told her I won’t root for the Vikes as long as Mr. Favre is their QB. It just isn’t right.

I like

the references to the 96 Packers and lately the 98 Vikings team. Not bad for a team thats not accomplished anything yet.

Well it looks like happy week had the perfect ending

And I can’t claim that I’m not pleased about the Henderson injury. It’ll be even better if the Packers pound the Ravens tomorrow.
