Bishop is not great in coverage, but he is an excellent blitzer and run stuffer. Does anybody think he would be more ideal starting on the right side instead of Brad Jones? We will need another pass rusher on the opposite side of Clay Matthews if we want to compete in the playoffs. Brad Jones is good for coverage, but that's about it. Plus he's undersized to a large extent for a 3-4 OLB, listed at 232 lbs.
We have excellent depth at the LB position and Bishop is a solid LB that deserves more playing time. I don't agree with most that he should be starting over Barnett or Hawk, but I do believe that he would be better than Brad Jones. Jones is a good project player on the outside, but I want our defense to be at its best in the Postseason. Bishop is probably our 2nd best pass rushing Linebacker, behind Clay Matthews, why don't we test him on the outside?
Again, this will be more of a test to see if he can play on the outside. It doesn't hurt at this point as we should have the playoffs locked up. Now is the time to experiment.
