Ray Rice Not Impressed
Many folks have referred to Lambeau Field as the "Mecca" of professional football. ESPN.com's Bill Simmons even went on a pilgrimage with Lambeau as the destination in 2006.
Well, there's one person who isn't that impressed, Baltimore Ravens running back Ray Rice. Speaking to the press after the game, Rice said, "to be honest with you, it was just Lambeau Field. I didn't see anything special. They put us in the middle of nowhere and it's not a real exciting place. Everything about this place is terrible, to be honest with you."
Tell us how you really feel! Rice may have been frustrated after a lackluster performance -- his 54 rushing yards paced a Ravens rushing attack that was held to just 66 yards.
Oh and by the way this article came from the ESPN Insider page and I thought I would post it for the unlucky few that don't have it

I think PFT put it best
Ray? You’re from New Rochelle, New York. You went to college in Piscataway, New Jersey. And now you live in Baltimore.
Not that we have a problem with any of those places. But if Rice is going to cop an attitude about Green Bay, then we need to point out that he doesn’t spend the bulk of his time in Manhattan or Paris or some other place that would satisfy the exacting standards that he apparently compromises when choosing where he’ll live.
Thank you Florio
"That's not a weird stat. Rickie is a run-scorer," Yost said. "It doesn't matter. It doesn't matter," Yost told reporters. "See, you guys have no concept. He's a run-scorer. So there's nothing weird about it. That's what he does."
That would bring the amount of intelligent posts by Favrio to one
Seriously, who elected this schmuck to be the conscience of the NFL? For a guy who desperately wants to be a journalist instead of a lawyer he sure has no problem filling his posts with mere opinion and conjecture.

I liked Rice
…until just now. I just read this over on Yahoo. What a poor sport? “I got beat here. I can’t talk trash about the team that just dominated me, so I’ll dog their statium??”
Makes no sense. He’s just a young guy who’s pointing a finger or throwing a tantrum.
Just lost some respect for that kid… very unprofessional.
Well
The stadium matters to us fans and thats all that counts. But after the Rice comment maybe we should start putting visiting lockers outside in a trailor and claim we are remodling. Book up all the hotels except for the Days Inn
haha very good
See, this is what happens when the Sox bunt.
Discord is sown. Brother fights brother. Misunderstandings abound.

A very good second year player who has accomplished absolutely nothing in his career
goes to the most hallowed place in professional sports and trashes it. Should Rice maybe ask the players and people on the Packers defense that are better than him and shut him down completely during the game whether they think that it’s a terrible place to play. 8 billion hall-of-famers would like to slap you in the face Ray Rice.
He will get agreement on that...
FROM NO ONE!!!!
seriously ray rice, there isn’t a stadium poll on the planet that doesn’t have Lambeau in the top 5.
we don’t give a crap about your opinion.
And before you talk ray ray, you should first ask permission from BJ Raji, because he OWNS you.
While I agree that Green Bay is a very boring place
I don’t see how you can bash Lambeau. But that’s the classless Ravens for you. You get Oher talking after the Vikings game, Rice talking after the Packers game, and you’ve got Ray Lewis who tried to get his third kill Monday on Greg Jennings. And as boring as Green Bay may be, at least I don’t need to worry about getting shot when I visit there like in Baltimore.
I went to college in DC.....
and let me tell you, Baltimore is the worst place this side of Detroit. There is a three block area called the “waterfront” which is OK for people to visit/dine. You need a bulletproof vest to walk in any other part of the city. This is not a joke. I’m serious. It sucks. Ray Rice, you’re a f*cking idiot. Ray Lewis loves it so much because it’s a city that looks the other way for murderers.
Baltimore is one of my least favorite places I have ever been.
Literally 3 blocks from the waterfront is the killzone. To be honest of all the times I can remember feeling unsafe, Baltimore probably has had something to do with most of them. It really is the Detroit of the east coast.
Ray Rice apologized on his Twitter page...
“As a man I would like to apologize the fans of green bay you can’t judge a book by it’s cover and for me to talk about your city was wrong”

To be fair, as much as I love Green Bay from childhood and adulthood, I’ll admit when I was 21 I was horrified at the lack of nightlife.
Wow, that almost sounded sincere from Ray Rice but I’m certainly not buying it. I’m guessing the only nightlife he experienced in Green Bay was getting his ass handed to him on the field, so I guess I could see how he would be disappointed.

To be fair verno,
it’s not like Rice owes anything to the fans of the Packers or Lambeau and he’s not going to get fined by the NFL for his comments, so I have no reason to doubt the sincerity of his apology.
As you said, I’m sure it was just a stupid comment spit out in the bitter postgame haze of a tough loss.
No argument here
I’m not out to blast the kid, just sounded like something a coach or agent prodded him into saying to cover themselves from a PR perspective. His apology lower in the comments sounded much more sincere. Still glad he lost though and as a guy who also roots for the Steelers (tho not next week) it is second nature to criticize a Raven. That’s weird, both the teams I hate as rivals wear purple. No wonder I hate that color so much.

Personally, I don't like Green Bay either.
Not at all. But I still think Rice is an ass and a poor sport for saying so out loud after getting pantsed on national TV. Pretty classless.

Maybe I am old
but Green Bay is good when I go there. I hunt and fish, eat smoked cheese and love the smell of burning wood. Clubbing gets old after about age 25.If your still clubbing after that you got issues. But as far as clean air, little crime, university events, fishing , hunting, golf courses, bike paths, hiking, camping—-it’s nice. But then if your into looking over your back, clubbing and Drama then, no, GB would not be the place for ya. It’s a place where you send your kids to school. I have been East and West and I love Wisconsin.
Funny...
… I was assuming I didn’t like Green Bay because I was old…

Ray, Ray, Ray
You don’t like Lambeau or Green Bay, why? Is it because there are no burned out buildings? No wheeless cars up on cinder blocks? The ceasless background noise of gun fire?
I understand. Your team just got bitch slapped and owned in just about every aspect of the game and you needed to vent. pats Ray on the back There, there, it will be OK. I promise. Just be secure in the fact that you’ll be sitting on the couch, all warm and snug, in January and February watching the Packers (and others…not your team, but others) make a playoff run.

A little more of an apology:
The Carroll County Times reports Baltimore Ravens RB Ray Rice reiterated his apology for his critical remarks about Lambeau Stadium and the Green Bay area. "What I said was out of frustration," he said. "Just to put it out there, I have nothing against Green Bay. Actually, I was very apologetic to them. But it’s hard after a tough loss, emotionally. I can’t judge their city, I’m not from there. Being I’m from New York, and I see a lot of different things, that was a different experience for me, and a little emotional after the loss. On my behalf, that will probably never happen again. Live and learn."
He’s a kid, I’m cutting him a break.
Some people say the glass is half empty, some say half full. I say, are you going to drink that?
Live and learn I guess…time to grow up a bit though kid. You are a pro now, making the big bucks and representing more than just yourself. I am sure the coach pushed him to make amends for his dumb comments.
Way to man up...
Yep, I was a bit harsh too. Good for him for apologizing.
