I wrote a Saturday roundup of all the signings in the NFC North so far, and I arguably forgot the biggest free agent signing; Detroit's signing of Seattle RB Maurice Morris.
At first, I didn't think much of it. He's no better a running back then RB Kevin Smith. But Morris is a much better receiver, and no running back on their roster was much of a receiver last season. So he really fills a need and gives their offense another dimension they didn't have last season. Not an earth shattering signing, but it does make them a better team and he signed a smallish (3 years, $7 million) contract. I guess he'll compete for the starting job with Smith, and they probably split time.
