Prime time Packers!!!!
Announced today the Packers will open the season against the Bears at home Sunday night! Hopefully another W like last years prime time MNF opener against the Vikes last year. We also will be playing on Thanksgiving against the Lions. I love watching football on Thanksgiving and glad to have the Pack playing on it but also hate playing on it. The Lions always seem to play better (excluding their beat down last year by TEN) they seem to always light a fire under themselves and play up to the attention. And the Pack havent been historically successful on Turkey day against them just 12-18.

Lions
I just love it when the Packers play the 0-16 Lions. The Lions still have a lot of work to do, but if they settled their QB position, maybe swing a trade for QB Jay Cutler, then they would be a lot closer. They’ve might not made themselves any better this offseason, but they’ve made a lot of moves (new coach, lots of new free agents, trade for LB Julian Peterson) and it’s possible they’ll work out.
That game against the Bears in week 1 could be a big foreshadow for the season. In 2007, they had a surprising win against Philadelphia, and it set the tone for a surprisingly good season. In 2008, they came out flat against Minnesota. They won the game, but they just didn’t look like the same team from 2007. That’s not a Rodgers vs. Favre dig either; there were a lot of problems in 2008 but Rodgers was never the problem.
I believe their is no I in team...
Yes the D had alot to do with almost every lose but i know there were a few that Rodgers faultered not saying all the blame was on him but some.
but there IS an "I" in "pie"
as in…meatpie…meat…team…it’s an anagram…

Mistakes happen
I’m sure Rodgers missed reads, wide open receivers, etc. from time to time. Every NFL QB does that. Rodgers had some stinker games (at Minnesota comes to mind). But there was never a point when Rodgers was holding the team back by himself. A bad series, bad game, that stuff happens. Looking back over the 16 games as a whole, he wasn’t the reason they were 6-10.
the opener could set the tone
yeah, you never know what will happen in the NFL. last year though, that was not the same defense as our 07’ defense was. so any comparison is completely irrelevant. Rodgers indeed had some issues in clutch performances, but the majority was not his fault as the defense consistently put him in a bad situation. Favre wouldn’t have carried the Packers into the playoffs with all the injuries Green Bay had.
True...
Since Rodgers did have an amazing year you cant put all the blame on him but he does play the position that is in charge. The QB is the one that gets the Ws and the Ls. I mean when was the last time you heard that the Longsnapper had the most wins in a career? So the blame gets put on Rodgers whether it should or shouldnt be but thats what comes from playing QB.
I was at the last time the Pack opened up against the Bears at home at Lambeau
26-0. The only that came from it was a Bears fan bought me a beer when he found out I was from IL.

Oh I forgot my point.
We sucked that year. That is all.
