NT SOI signed....
The Packers signed Free Agent Brian Soi a NT from Utah State.
Soi was a nondrafted FA last season when he signed with Miami before being released and spending time with the Giants.
I have never heard of the guy and cant find any numbers even from his college years. The only info I can find on him is when he was going into college he ran a 4.91 40 time and recruited by some big schools. USC, Oregon, Nebraska, TN, and BYU.
However, he has adequate size, 6'3'' 334 lbs. So we will have to see if he has any talent...

He has good size and is good for depth at the NT position.

Million dollar arm, ten cent head
Not exactly an arm, that’s Nuke LaLoosh, but he’s got talent. He just hasn’t been able to stay in school, his most recent attempt was at Utah State, and he had to register for the supplemental draft in 2007. From Pro Football Weekly:
Started 9-of-11 games in ’05, compiling 31 tackles, 7½ tackles for loss and 4½ sacks. Did not return in ’06 due to academics and was to be ineligible for the ’07 season. Blessed with natural size, strength and athletic ability and looks the part. Has been very durable. Can dig a hole in the ground to stop the run and hold two gaps. Is tightly wound and relies too much on his upper-body strength. Needs to play in a simple scheme and be turned loose to be effective. If he ever figures it out, he could make a roster. He was barely noticed in four preseason games in 2007 with the Dolphins. I wonder what he’s been up to? He’s exactly the type of player the Packers need, but he hasn’t been able to stick in the NFL so far.

Does this mean we'll be passing on Ron Brace in the 2nd round?
I just sit back and root for the taser

Soi
Well if he has trouble staying eligible in school it would stand to reason that he has trouble in a training camp where you are trying to learn at an accelerated rate.
seems to have the type of abiltiy to make a difference at NT… He might benefit from being on a team for a year and learning the scheme at his pace, and see what he can do in a year, when he can turn it loose.
Can you say PRACTICE SQUAD?!
