At No. 145, It's FB Quinn Johnson
With their 5th round pick, the Green Bay Packers select LSU FB Quinn Johnson.
This pick, I don't understand. Johnson is a former college linebacker who was known as a big hitting lead blocker. At the combine, he underwhelmed on the bench press and in his 40 time. With FBs Korey Hall and John Kuhn on the roster, it doesn't seem like Johnson will have a tough time making the roster.
I had been hoping the Packers would draft a big back to provide some fresh competition for RB Ryan Grant, but I don't think Johnson was drafted for that purpose.

These guys seem to think he’d be an excellent special teamer. Maybe we’re going to move him back to LB?

I was surprised as well, but he could increase the competition. It’s not like we have a good starting FB at the moment.
