With the first of their two 6th round picks, the Packers select Georgia DE Jarius Wynn.
They really needed someone like Wynn. At 6'3", 273 lbs. he can play defensive end in a 3-4 defense. The best spot for him might be as a backup to right DE Cullen Jenkins, and let him play over the left tackle. Unfortunately his bio reads like someone who has all the skills and ability to excel or dominate, but that's never happened on the field. He underachieved at Georgia based on all the hype surrounding him. But if there weren't question marks, he would have been drafted higher than the 6th round.
There's no guarantee he'll succeed or even make the team, but the Packers needed more depth at defensive end so it's good that they addressed the need.
