Undrafted Free Agents

From a recent interview with GM Ted Thompson:

(How competitive is it with non-drafted free agents and how successful do you think you have been with that?)
It's chaos. It's absolute chaos.

The Packers are going to be frantically trying to beat out 31 other teams and get a few additional players signed in time for the rookie minicamp in early May. Dan over at Mocking The Draft has his list of the top undrafted players.

Two guys on his list stood out; Iowa DE Mitch King and Texas WR Quan Cosby. We had been talking about King in the 4th round during the open thread and he goes undrafted. I just can't believe there is no place in the NFL for Cosby.

Any of them seem like good candidates for the Packers?

Aside from Mitch King

I like Josh Mauga ILB from Nevada.

I'm really surprised about Cosby too

Big 12 has pretty weak pass defenses, but I mean, the guy had over 1000 receiving yards last year. You’d think someone would give him a shot. Not that we should.

Egboh is big enough to play 3-4 DE and may be brought in for some competition.

King went to the Titans

or so I heard. Poor Cosby…he had BIll Cosby with him and was on national tv a lot.

Ian Johnson!!!!

He ran a 4.4 I believe, he’s a proven winner, great hands…exactly the type of guy we need to throw into the mix at HB!

I bet he’s already gone though.

Not a 4.4

I forget what it was, but it wasn’t that good. He would have been drafted if he ran a 4.4.

I thought about Ian Johnson, but he’s turned out to be a little too small, a little slow, and too injury prone.

The vikings picked Johnson up. He ran like a 4.68 or something like that. I live in Minnesota and there was an article about him in the paper.
