OT---the new and the regulars... just us fans..
I first off wanted to say thanks to Brandon and Mitchell for running this site. You guys are always on top of things and do a great job.
Secondly, I wanted to thank all the new comers here. In the past month or two it has seemed like a ton of people have joined in. I don't know if you all have been always here and just been quiet, but it has been nice to get some new opinions in here.
And i was just to try to get to know so people here. Nothing too personal just fun Packer things.. How long have you been a Packer fan? From WI or something else influence your interest in the Pack? Favorite Pack memory? etc.....
Just something fun and get our minds off all the Favre rumors....

I'm not new here
I’ve been posting here since 2007, but I figure this is a good time to talk about myself. I don’t live in Wisconsin, I live in Maryland, just outside of DC. I honestly believe Wisconsinites and Marylanders are kindred spirits. Though while I am an unabashed east coast guy, both my parents are from the midwest, Detroit and Chicago respectively.
I became a Packer fan in 1995, because Reggie White was my favorite player. Not surprisingly my favorite current Packer is Cullen Jenkins.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Kinda New
Started posting at the beginning of this offseason. I also live in Maryland, right outside DC. My dad used to Wisconsin a lot for business and I started watching football when Brett Favre and the Packers where the best in the league. In fourth grade, my dad gave me a cheesehead that a client gave him and I’ve been a diehard Packers Fan since.
So I guess you could say I became a fan in 2001. My favorite current Packer is Al Harris.
Pretty new, read here and there last year.
Not from Maryland, I am from Oregon, born and raised. My parents are from Madison and Appleton and so the Pac are in my DNA. I starting caring about football when Farvre started, well, starting and so he is basically all I have even know. So excited for Rodgers to keep growing, saw a lot of him out here and think he is going to be great.
I have always loved Packer WR, I think that was solidified with Freemen’s MNF catch, and Jennings is my favorite current player. Although I am really pumped about the new D and the two 1st rounders.

Forgot to add about myself...
This has been my first year here. I joined up sometime during this past season.. But this site has been one of those things i have learned to check daily along with the email, facebook, etc…
I live in WI down by the state line where we have a pretty big mix of Bear Packer fans so its always a good time when the two play eachother. I have been a Packer fan my whole life! growing up in the ’90s was a great time and put a big influence on me being a Packer fan when they were so dominant.
Trumpet duck- I still remember that catch like it was yesterday! What a play and it was against those little girls to the northwest! gotta love it!
Great Moment
I ran around the house during all the challenges yelling “It’s a catch, it’s a catch!” My mom got madder at me that she was happy with the game. Love it.

Been around since early 2008
I was born in Maryland but only lived there till I was 2 so I don’t know if that counts :)
My parents are from outside Pittsburgh so I’ve always had strong ties to the Steelers but we moved to Wisconsin when I was 8 and I fell in love with them right away. And this was during the horrible mid 80’s period. I moved to NC in ’97 (got to see them win the Super Bowl while I was living in WI so I can die a happy man) and the Pack will always be my #1 team
Frye is honestly gotta be one of the top 10 3rd Stringers in all of the NFL right now--colbyb
Here for a year... or more
Born and raised in GB!!! Went to training camp as a kid and did the whole bike thing w/ a variety of players from the 70’s. Happy to say I went to Vincent Lombardi Jr High… LOL
Live in Scottsdale AZ now, having moved in the summer after the Pack won the SB…. Obviously it is in my DNA, to be a Packer fan.
Started on this site a little over a year ago, I think. In the offseason while looking for draft info.
I really appreciate the valid opinions on this site, whereas the MJS and GBPG blogs are good too, they have alot of haters, that tend to get off topic. This site is great for FOOTBALL discussion!
Since the beginning
Obviously, I was the first one to post here. So I’ve been here since March 2007. I started blogging in early 2003 because I had so much on my mind about the Packers.
I’ve been a Packer fan since the first moment I became a football fan. I grew up in Madison, went to college at UW-Madison, and lived there for several years after graduation. After a brief detour in Chicago, I moved out to Portland OR. My ties to Wisconsin seem weaker the longer I’m away from there, but every year, I’m a bigger Packer fan. That bond just grows tighter.
I really appreciate all the comments and fan posts. I read every single one.
Been here since May '08,
but I was a reader well before then. I actually found this site through BrewHoop, the SBNation site for the Bucks, which I found through Henry Abbott’s TrueHoop. Before then, I was among the majority of the uninformed masses that have the image of the blogger who lives in his parents’ basement. Have I ever learned the truth about that.
I myself am a Wisconsin native, born and raised in Milwaukee. Every Sunday growing up I was taken to my family’s business, and every Sunday they had the Packer game on, so I took it up quick. Loved LeRoy Butler, Robert Brooks, and Gilbert Brown, but now I direct all my blind affection towards Aaron Rodgers, Chalres Woodson, and Greg Jennings, just to name a few. Essentially, if they’re on the 53-man roster (or at least should be), I’ve got a soft spot for ’em.
Ever since I moved to NJ, my access to all things Green Bay has been restricted, except for this blog. The fact that Brandon did such an incredible job keeping the site updated with news and analysis really helped keep me connected to my home team. The fact that everyone contributes with comments, FanPosts, etc, makes that connection even better. Keep it up, gentlemen, lest I start cheering for the Jets.

Started reading the beginning of the season...
I was born in Des Moines, Iowa but was raised in Brookfield, WI. I’m a third generation Packer Fan, my grandpa was raised in Green Bay and my Dad in Madison.
I went to college down in Dayton, and took my first job in Chicago. Been here for 3 years now. And I must say, nothing is better then listening to Chicago Sports Talk Radio after a Bears loss, brings a smile to my face every morning on my way to work.
My dad is a season ticket holder (got them from my Grandpa), so I get the chance make my trip to the Packer Mecca a couple times a year, and I must say, my favorite Packer Memory (aside from the Superbowl victory in ’96) was being at Lambeau for the Packers vs Seahawks game in January of ’08. That day was perfect.
Also if anyone else who checks this site lives in or near Chicago, you gotta go watch a Packers game at Will’s Northwoods Inn sometime here in Chicago. Best Packer Bar I’ve ever been to. The owner gives away free Packers Gear at halftime, free Brats, Burgers, Popcorn, and Cheesecurds on gamedays, and a ton of local Packers Fans that get together to watch the games. A great place.

Speaking of Packer Bars
Brandon you are in Portland, where is the best place to catch the game with other Packers? Growing up outside of Portland it seems there have always been a lot of Packers fans here, weird, so I assume there is a nice bar hidden somewhere.
Sleeping under an avalanche with Cartman, wake me Sept 3.
Corbett Fish House
Corbett’s is probably the best true, 100% Packer bar. And it is hidden. But unfortunately I’m not a huge fan of their fish, although I love their breakfast (Packer Sundays only), and the place is small so it can fill up quick. I haven’t been their in a while, but any Packer fan out in Portland should check it out.
Rookie
Well reading the posts you have gotten so far,I guess its safe to assume I am the rookie of the bunch so far.Let me start by sayin thanx to Brandon & Mitchell, for running this site so smooth, you guys are appreciated.I have only been on for about a month so far. Now lets see I am a Wisconsin native born and raised and have been a packer fan my whole life, well as long as I can remember anyways.I can remember watching my dad who was a raiders fan trying to track the raiders on tv and thinking whats wrong with this guy? I still love ya dad! I live in the southernmost part of WI,the ill border actually runs through the city.so I get alot of crap from the bears fans which only makes beating them so much sweeter! Love the rivalry of two of the most storied franchises in the NFL.and am proud to be on the WI side of it! And as bad as it sounds one of my favorite memories(and I know this subject is taboo)is the tony mandarich draft and the anticipation of watching him(Which will also turn into my least favorite memory)play.just so you know at the time I was 13 and this was my introduction to the NFL draft. The first time I ever payed attention to it.my brother was and is a lions fan! Needless to say I never heard the end of it and how that situation worked out.Well untill last season of course!HAHA.my favorite current players are probably(cuz lets face it they are an exciteing team in whole)Rodgers,Barnett & Harris.Man I really miss Leroy Butler. That guy really had class on the field and was everywhere. Now I have four Children all are fans thats my daughter in the pic Shes the youngest and will not wear anything other than Pack gear on sunday(year round!) my oldest is 14 and is trying to earn a spot on the jr high team LInebacker of course hes a huge Hawk fan! Well thats about it I will end this by saying The brewers are in first place the Pack will be lifes great in Wisconsin! Go Crew!
Funny, my brother taught English at Whitman last fall

I would say I'm a rookie
I joined this board after our 08’ season. I live in MN but was born in WI, pretty much my entire family lives in WIsconsin Rapids, WI.( Haha and I can;t even begin to tell you how hard it is to be a Packers fan living in MN when the Vikes do well. Having to deal with the Vikes actually having a good year last year was hell!) I have loved the Packers for as long as I can remember. I think when I was around 4 years old in 94’, was the first time I watched a Packers game, and was actually aware of it haha. I would say my favorite current player is Aaron Rodgers probably due to the fact that I have played QB my whole life. Before him, it was probably Donald Driver or Al Harris. I love the way both of them are so dedicated, and always give every play of every game 100%. I think we have one of the best franchises in all of pro sports, and really I just love everything about the Packers.
I live in MN too...
I go to school in North Saint Paul. Where are you at? (It was HELL, because the Vikings and Bears are such a joke, seeing them do well is terrible.)
fav players
At the moment my favorite Packer is also Rodgers. I like the kids moxie and respect the way he handled his 3 yrs on the bench learning and waiting for his chance after #4 retired! Also like Jennings alot, on D, Wood is the man!! Although Raji will likely become a favorite rather quickly! He was my pick for the Packers almost immediately after the year ended and draft info started.
My All Time favorite is Ahman Green!!! THe guy was just a beast running the football! He, IMO is the best RB in Packer history! And I know all about the Taylors and Hornungs but I didn’t get to watch them play.
LeRoy Butler would have to be #2 all time… Got to go to his Induction into the Packer HOF. My best friend for most of my life gave his induction Speech. J Anderson from ESPN, gave LeRoys induction speech, as they became really good friends when LeRoy did a little work for ESPN. LeRoy was going to have his college coach induct him, but he had prior commitments, so LeRoy asked JA to do it for him.
Funny how nobody has listed #4 as thier favorite!!! Wonder why that is… LOL
I hate the Vikings...
I live in Northern Minnesota, and for a while back in the 2000’s my hatred for the purple subsided because they were just down-right pathetic. I really didn’t get that much crap at school. Now that they can overcome Childress’ stupidity to make the play-offs, they think their S don’t S So, it’s back to loathing the Queens.
My two favorite players of all time are LeRoy Butler and Robert Brooks, because ’95 and ’96ish were when I was coming into my own as a Packers fan at the age of 8. I cried when we lost to Dallas in the conference championship, and two years later when we lost to Elway and the Broncos in Super Bowl XXXII. I almost cried at college when we lost to the Giants two years ago, but instead decided to boycott the Super Bowl…probably a bad idea.
Antonio Freeman also has to be one of my favorite players, and it’s no coincidence that he was involved in my greatest Packers memory. We had just moved to Northern ‘Sota from the lovely suburbs of Madison. Packers v.s. Vikings on Monday night. We decided to go to a sports bar to watch…bad idea. The Packers were being handled early on and the locals weren’t making things easy for us. So we headed back to the house and continued watching there. Things began to turn around, until, lo and behold, here comes OT. After that, fate took over. Favre to Freeman, Freeman goes down ball, bounces of his shoulder, he catches it, gets up and scores, Packers win, and Chris Dishman looks like an idiot. My older brother was so excited he jumped up and smacked his hand on the fan that was rotating viciously above…my best Packers memory.
Nowadays, it’s sometimes hard to see the Pack on Sunday, as I go to school in N. Indiana. I do however follow them on the radio, at http://player.streamtheworld.com/jbroadcast/?CALLSIGN=WTMJAM. Nice little site. I enjoy writing and posting on here and always feel flattered when Brandon decides to front-page my stuff. Anyway, I look forward to seeing the Pack back for the attack in ‘09. I’m predicting 10-6, division champs, and why not a Super Bowl run?

I didn't open this post til today, got it cofused with that Lost FanPost!
Well, I’m Stephan. I’m a diehard fan from Kenosha, WI. We too are on the southern state line, so Bears hatred comes naturally. So many people jumped on the Bears bandwagon when they went to the Superbowl a couple years back; it makes me sick. I’ve been a Packer fan my whole life. One of my greatest memories is D. Howards kick return in the 3rd quarter of SB31. I was jumping up and down on the couch at 9 years old. Most recently, I was in Kalamazoo, MI when I watched the Denver game two years ago. Rumors had been circulating that Favre was losing his deep ball. My buddy Tim was all down on the situation when we went to overtime, but I was like “Dude, it’s Brett Favre, he’ll win us the game. Don’t worry.” Brett blazed one over Dre Bly’s head for the overtime win and we went nuts! (He put one over Champ Bailey’s head earlier too)
My favorite players on the current roster are Harris, Woodson, Barnett, and Bigby. I love Hawk, Collins, and Kampman too. Haha. Never mind, I simply cannot pick a favorite player.
Anyways, I live in MN right now. I go to school in north St. Paul. On Sundays I head to Jake’s Sports Bar in New Brighton. It’s really the place to be for Packer fans. There are Vikings and Bears fans there too, but that make the environment even better. If you are in the area during the season, come check it out and sit at a Packer fan table.
