All time team thoughts, help me decide
I'm putting together an all-time packers team. Some pretty tough choices to make, so I thought I'd get your opinions. I have Jim Ringo as starting C, should backup be Larry McCarren or Frank Winters? Guard is Jerry Kramer and Gale Gillingham. 2 Backups between Fuzzy Thurston, Marco Rivera and Mike Michalske? For my last WR I am choosing between Antonio Freeman, Boyd Dowler, Billy Howton and Carroll Dale. I am thinking Freeman because of TDs and post season, but Dowler looks very close. KR Tony Canadeo, Travis Williams or Desmond Howard? Does KGB have a place on an all time team, or is he too one dimensional? How about Tim Harris, Fred Carr or Lee Roy Caffey at LB? My final, toughest choice is between Lombardi and Lambeau for head coach. Any help is appreciated.

KGB has no place on the all time team
Your end opposite Reggie should Willie Davis.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

I'd say...
McCarren as the backup center.
Mike Michalske was a different era, Rivera was almost 100 lbs. bigger and probably would have dominated in the 1930s, but Michalske is in the HoF (somewhere Rivera will never approach).
Freeman had a great 1996-1998 run, an unbelievable 1998 season, but went into a major decline after that. Maybe 1998 was great enough to put him ahead of Dowler, but Dowler did it for longer. I’d give it to Freeman based on 1998.
Tony Canadeo.
I’m a big Tim Harris fan, but he wasn’t much of a linebacker, more like an undersized defensive lineman. I’d say Fred Carr. Making the Pro Bowl during one of the Packers darkest seasons in 1975 is pretty impressive.

Thanks for the input
Yes, Hornung, Starr, Nitschke, Lofton and all the other no-brainers will be on my team. I was just looking for help with some tough decisions on backup positions etc. as I’m putting together a 53 man roster. I’ll post it here soon. Anyone feel free to add other suggestions or answers to my questions. Brandon had some great points.
