The Firm Brett Favre Deadline Is Maybe Not So Firm
Does the two ESPN sources that say Brad Childress gave QB Brett Favre a deadline to make his decision trump the one source that says that there is no deadline?
I would expect the Vikings would give Favre a deadline, but I also expect Favre (or his agent Bus Cook) is in charge of this situation. What are the odds he ends up in Minnesota? I can't imagine he would have surgery if he wasn't playing again, so the fact that there is a deadline or there is no deadline doesn't matter.

I wish the deadline was real
The Vikings need to know. My guess is they would have really liked him to start learning the offense and working out at OTAs. Favre has always hated these early preseason workouts. I’m sure Favre and Buss are in charge, but he’s not an employee yet. Put the pressure on Favre and make him make a decision and stop his wishy-washyness.

If that was possible, he might still be a Packer

vikings...
suspend their pursue of Favre after he failed to appear for OTAs…
But then I also heard Favre’s family and friends booked 30 hotel rooms in Green Bay in November… hmmm

Yes, for the Vikings / Packers game. The question is, which side will they be on. Anyone else get the feeling the ONLY reason Favre wants to play for the Vikes is to stick it to the Packers?

Yes!!
iowahawkeye- I think that’s pretty much the only reason he wants to play. The Vikes would be smart to put a deadline on him. But even if they did, and he didn’t decide by it, I think Childress would still let him play. There just soooo desperate for a QB.
