New Favre shirt, FAVRETIRE

Favre-2_medium

Let's face it none of us would turn down 12 million dollars to play football, however, doesn't mean we can't try to make an honest shirt about it.  Just retire already! Go Pack!  The shirt has his old green bay letters from his jersey and the additional words of tire placed after resembling the word "retire" within his name, clever right?  Would love to know your thoughts, we have been featured on ESPN a few times and we try to make quality stuff.

So which is it?

First you say that “none of us” (assuming you mean the general population of the Football loving planet) would turn down 12 million dollars a year to play and then in the next breath you say that you’re making a shirt that’s “honest” about it.

Honest about what?

Because by your rationale he SHOULD take the money and sign with the Vikings, yet you want him to “Favretire” and not take the money?

So which is it?

Why don’t you tell the truth and admit that you think he’s smart for taking the money and joining a playoff-bound team yet you’re pandering to and are trying to appeal to the Packer fans anger and frustration with Favre in the hopes that they’ll buy your T-Shirts and put money in your pockets?

Can you be as honest as you think you are witty?

bret farve

This is the best thing to happen to the nfc north in 17 years! Bret can play any where he wants. We as packer fans should not act as if we own him! Do you make such a big deal when you or someone else goes to a different job? We as packer fans should be happy that he is still playing so what if he plays for the vikes. If we like Brett Favre we should support him. He has not betrayed anybody. He is being true to himself and that is all that maters.

Get a real bullet

And shoot yourself in the mouth for that statement. He’s the best thing that happened to the Packers in the last 17 years. Not the NFC north. Bears fans would probably say that the superbowl run a few years ago was the best thing to happen to the north. Lions fans will NEVER put Favre in front of Barry Sanders, And It’s hard to say what Vikes fans think, I can’t see them sayint the same thing, due to the fact that the NFC north once again has the best RB in the game today. I’m just saying that you sound like a favre lover not a packer lover.Me personnaly, i think he is going to go down in history as one of the best 5 QB’s but he is barely better than Marino, Big arm, all the records but only 1 ring, and if it wasn’t for Desmond Howard he wouldn’t even have that 1 ring. Just 2 trips to the big dance.

Not at all

You must be a “Brett Favre fan”? Unfortunately, I have some aunts and uncles in which this is the case. You don’t go and play for your previous teams rival when you were the face of that previous franchise. Too me it kind of is betrayal, and for him it’s all about revenge. The second he realized we weren’t going to cave in to him he wanted on the Vikes. It didn’t happen last year, and then when the opportunity presented itself this season he went running for it. Of course he had to do the whole “I’m retired, I’ll never play again” bullshit first. But hey, what more what you expect from an ego-maniac?

Purple # 4

Thank you bullet15, he hasnt done anything that no other professional sports player hasn’t done or wouldnt do. I for one would like to see him win the Super Bowl 09’. I think the Green Bay managment (Thompson), and most of Green Bay fans have forgotten what Brett has accomplished in his career with the Packers. Everyone keeps blaming Brett Favre and they should all know there are 2 sides to that story. He is just taking the high road by not slamming the Packer organization, like they are doing to him. I guess that is what dignity is all about.

by favre4evr on Aug 19, 2009 10:20 AM CDT reply actions

no

he’s not slamming the Packer organization, he’s just giving an underhanded passive-aggressive FU to the packers by signing with a divisional rival. i think dignity would have been better exhibited if he signed before training camp, didn’t lie to the media continually to continue his dramatic return, and commit himself to his teammates and the Vikings organization from the get-go.

actually

if you want to use that high IQ you’re bragging about, please give me an example of a player (in any sport) who has been the face of a franchise for more than 15 years and then left to go play for that teams most bitter rival. I can’t think of one, but then again I’m one of those with the low IQ who has difficulty understanding such complex matters.

I for one would like to see him win the Super Bowl 09’

Really?!?!?! A Vikings fan who would like to them win the Super Bowl? Will wonders never cease. Maybe thats all we need is to have some of our fans like to see us win the Super Bowl. Hmmm, worth a shot I guess.

I think the Green Bay managment (Thompson), and most of Green Bay fans have forgotten what Brett has accomplished in his career with the Packers.

Good point. The 49ers need a QB, maybe they should give Joe Montana a call? Or have they forgotten about all he has done in has career for the 49ers?

He is just taking the high road by not slamming the Packer organization, like they are doing to him.

Care to point out any of those in the Packer organization slamming him? You do realize that the posters on a Packers blog don’t count as members of the Packers organization, right?

He is starting to sound like

Revenge4favre is anyone here goes over to the Norsemen. A little redundant and once you make a point about the neverending story that is #4 he comes back with a nonwitty slurr.

Haha

Favre’s ridiculous amount of arrogance must rub off onto his fans as well.

by packallday555 on Aug 22, 2009 1:45 PM CDT up reply actions

Brett Favre should have stayed retired…he is probably going to end up getting hurt because now players know his rotator cuff is weak and when Nick Barnett finally gets his hit in..that might be the last game favre plays

by Cheesehead687 on Aug 19, 2009 11:03 AM CDT reply actions

Changed his tune...

I remember an interview with Brett that he said it wasn’t his responsibility to help out the back up quarterbacks… In his press conference yesterday he said that he told the young guys he would help them out…. Maybe he just didn’t like Aaron Rodgers?

I am glad Brett is playing with a team that the Packers play… the new guy in the middle should be looking forward to sacking the quarterback… Purple helmet with sod hanging from the face mask sounds good to me….

Just get over it.

I would bet everyone posting comments here wold love to go to either one of the games they play this year. come on it is good for the game, they will be the most watched football games of the season, except the super bowl.

I like it.

There should be a definition on the back relating to the ephemeral nature of Favretirement.
