Retire Brett Favre's Jersey Now

Ok, this is brilliant:

After the Packers retire Jersey # 4

…they should randomly trot it out and let other quarterbacks wear it at unexpected times until they finally really retire it.

let him play

i have been a packer backer for over 40 years. the pack didn’t want favre back. so i feel if he still has the passion to play and he wants to then he should be aloud to play where ever he wants. i have enjoyed watching him play and am thankful for everything he did while in greenbay. his number 4 should be retired when he is ready. iam sure he will still retire when the day comes as a packer.

Want

The Packers didn’t want Favre? Really… Look at the evidence, the truth is Favre didn’t want the Packers!!! HE Retired!!! AFTER a 13-3 season… Wanted to come back in late Mar, Packers were happy to have him back then… Only to have Favre rebuff them AGAIN!!!

We then didn’t hear from him until after they had drafted 2 QB’s, cuz, you know, he was RETIRED!!! But he felt it necessary to go on Grotesqua and throw the entire Packer organization under the bus… Only at those points had they drawn the line in the sand! But you would let your wife do that to you so I guess your just more “forgiving” than I… Or more pathetic!!!

Let's Retire his number in...

Despite ol’ Brett being a good ol’ boy from nearby Kiln MS, I’m not too impressed with his antics. So, if I’m Green Bay management, I’d have Brett Favre Day…in 2025!

Wait

Before they retire his number in 2025 ….. Let’s say we will do it in 2022 and then change our mind and do that every year closer to the event until 2025 when we actually do it!!

That's a good one

Anybody ever wonder if Favre is slightly unhinged these days after a career of taking vicious hits? I mean, how many concussions has the man had?

by Pack Man on Aug 19, 2009 5:50 AM CDT reply actions

That’s what I’ve been thinking. There is something serioiusly wrong with this guy – like mental illness wrong.

new career as comedian

I wonder if it is stupidity, fear or just cheese for brains that keep these fools coming out. Don’t think any of you winers have a shot at a funny guy career. Let the man play. He sure has got the weiners showing up with ther .0001 cents worth of nothing. I think it’s fear, and maybe remorse similar to a nice woman dumping a guy. The poor dope mopes around condemming her. Get a life and be happy. you probably can’t even throw a football much less make comments about #4.

yes

and brett favre craps gold nuggets and his touch cures cancer.

also, his wrangler jeans are impenetrable and he wears them under his his football uni, which explains his longevity on the field.

i don’t think anyone is arguing against his right to play the game.. it’s how he holds organizations hostage until the last week of training camp that irritates people. and how he thinks he’s above any of the other players and deserves special treatment… even though he relies on 21 other starters to put him in position to win games and get face time on espn.

truth

truth is Ted thomspon didnt want Brett back he was never Ted’s boy all you have to do is remember who was the first person Ted had drafted Aaron Rodgers he wanted Aaron to play and with Brett there Aaron was not going to play for a while. Did Ted do anything to help Brett " NO" Brett asked Ted to make a bid for Randy Moss a Primer Wide Receiver. A player that probably was the missing piece of the puzzle. Facts are facts Ted has an even BIGGER EGO THAN BRETT he thinks its his team and wants to be the face of the team. Brett was the face of Green Bay Packers for 16 years longer than any quarterback in the past 30 years i would guess. Every team in the league has had 2,3, or 20 different qbs since Brett started for the Packer so for haters of Brett put that in your pipe and smoke it. this is not as much the fault of Brett as it is the slef thought god of Green Bay Ted thomspon .

oh great

this fantastic argument again. please explain how adding Randy Moss in ‘07 would have made them better in ’07. by making Jennings a third receiver and stunting his growth? don’t forget that we had the best whole group of receivers in the league that year. would Moss have made us go 14-2 instead of 13-3? would Moss have stopped that indefensible pick in OT against the Giants?

how many times do we have to go over this? thompson realizing that the Packers were not going to cease operations when Favre retired (eventually…and for real…not the phony ones) and planning for that event does not equal thompson pushing BF out the door. if you believe that then you are looking through Favre colored glasses.

NO WAY EVER

give # 4 to a rookie punter, He has been acting like a teen diva pop for the last 4 or 5 years, Yes if he still can play by then play, stop the jurking around and all the homie crap. He jurked the packers around for years with the retierment talk, the pulled a fast one on the jets. He plays the game with the fun of a child, too bad he is a spoiled brat one too.

Want

T.T. didn’t want Brett. If Brett really wanted to end it with the Pack, it would not have been so emotional. T.T. forced him out so he could be the hero with his QB. (Don’t get me wrong, I love Aaron. Damn good QB), he is our future. Brett wanted to play, he forced their hand and you saw the results. Brett was not going to be 2nd string. Then T.T. would not let Brett play were he wanted to play. Brett got around that. Shrewd business move. They all say this a business, right?

by kmf4pack on Aug 19, 2009 3:37 PM CDT reply actions

Question

Is it business to string your team along about coming back for another season? Brett did that for the last 4 years. In 2007, the last game of the season, Brett was waving to the fans like it was his last year, he was teary eyed. Then 2008, to not give your team an answer about returning until after the draft was selfish. Brett proved (at least to me) that he wasn’t 100% committed to the team anymore and that was the last straw. None of us knows (for sure) what actually went down between T.T. and Brett, but those actions told me Brett was trying to push something onto the organization and the organization stood their ground.

I hope he does well with the Vikings, just not against the Packers!! GO PACKERS!!!!

Funny The First Time I Retired Was Because Of My Wife And They Lost That Video!

Funny The First Time I Retired Was Because Of My Wife And They Lost That Video! Don’t you remember my wife sitting by my side saying thank god hes done & I really wanted this! Now we can go on with our lives! She was so happy – That’s why I retired the first time and finally got balls and told her I want to play again that next season. Get your facts straight .. Go find the video that magically disappeared of that press conference with my wife and play it.
