Favre may be fantastic as a VIking. He may be horrible. We have no way of knowing at this point. However, if he fails to fulfill expectations, I fully expect this story to resurface as one of the primary reasons for his performance.

Then again, if he succeeds, this story will serve as further evidence to his Iron Man reputation, and 2008 will be an aberration. Like I said, we have no way of knowing.

I just want to make sure that I call it.

the way I see it, the Vikings needed to sign Favre to get their new stadium sold out.

whether this injury is real or not, it doesn’t matter. the Favre signing has helped ticket and merchandise sales and saved this season (financially) for Viking management. Heck, the Vkings had a # of games last year that had blackout risks all the way to the last minute. This is a franchise with major problems. Favre solved that problem for 2009.

It is all about getting through one day at a time, and Favre has saved the Vikings financially for 2009, even if his arm flames out in 2-3 weeks. Personally, I hope Favre’s arm holds up long enough to make it to week #4…so the Packers can greet him appropriately.

I personally think this is a big issue as well. I’ve dealt with rotator cuff injuries while playing QB, and after 6-7 games my arm was pretty much done. Of course there is a difference between Favre and I haha. I brought this up over on the DN and many of them didn’t seem to be to concerned about it. Apparently Favre has calcium build up around the tear which is good for him, but any wrong hit or to much use could cause it to worsen.

There is one explanation for Favre's partially torn rotator cuff and one explanation only

Ted Thompson’s use of his voodoo doll of Favre has finally paid off. That is all.

Frye is honestly gotta be one of the top 10 3rd Stringers in all of the NFL right now--colbyb
