Can this double as a preliminary post game thread?
If so, A-Rod’s my offensive MVP with Greg Jennings second, and my defensive MVP is Cullen Jenkins, with Brandon Chillar second. Cullen Jenkins was probably the best player on the field tonight.
Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.
-Jack Handey
I would have liked to have posted during the game
The laptop was otherwise occupied, however.
jobe: For everything good that Jenkins did, Ogunleye did just as well. Not taking anything away from Cullen, but until someone finally figured out where the pressure was coming from and put some extra help there, Ogunleye was downright scary.
jobe and Donald Driver: Brandon Chillar had a great game, and I’d love to see more of the same from him, but he is a member of the best (IMHO) linebacker corps in the NFC. Barnett, Hawk, and even Matthews all had a chance to shine tonight, and they provided the backbone for a terrific defensive showing. Kudos to all of them.
As for me, I give game balls to Greg Jennings and Johnny Jolly. Jennings’ game winning catch was the topper, but his stellar hands and head picked up the receivers on a night when Driver was just a >bit< off. Jolly’s INT turned a 7 into (an embarrassing) 2, but his constant pressure up the middle drew double-teams when blitzing and singles when covering the run. You cannot ask for more from a defensive lineman, and I give him full marks for his effort tonight.
"Who ever heard of the Cubs losing a game they had to have?" -Frank Chance
"If [Ruth] had [called his shot], I would have knocked him down with the next pitch." -Charlie Root
We all know the -'s but look at the +'s
Jolly, yeah the int did turn into points for the bears.. but it stopped a pretty good drive for the bears and prevented them for getting the lead. But how about that grab???? thats a heck of a catch by itself and having it done by a 320lb DT even better wow!!!
The game winner… what a fake! the whole O line shitfed to the right. Was it a called play action or do you guys think Rodgers made a read and gave jennings a little wink? Whatever the scenario ballsy play that turned out pretty well! Confidence booster hopefully! Rodgers all last year was known for not coming through at the end of the game and do have a average/below average game for him for most of the game and come up with a play like that should bring big things to him and the O.
I liked the spread we used. Alot of 4 WR, TE, 5 WR looks we gave. If the Oline can give Rodgers some protection the timing, the catches, the yards, and TDs will come. DD and Jordy both had a few very catchable drops, dont count on that happening every week.
