Packers Sign New Safety

Packers signed safety Matt Giordano, who has spent 4 seasons with the Colts. To make room for Giordano the Packers released safety Aaron Rouse. See link below for more details. I was a little surprised that they released Rouse, who is a solid backup. It would seem to make more sense to release a linebacker or a cornerback, both of which the Packers are deep at each position.
