Giants fan here

just wanted to pop in and say that was one of the most impressive comebacks I’ve ever seen, even though you guys lost. What an epic game. I can’t imagine how much it must suck to see your team lose like that, but from an outsiders perspective, the Packers are gonna be a force in the NFC for a long time. Aaron Rodgers is absolutely amazing – Favre might (unfortunately) still be alive right now, but in the long run the Packers definitely made the right choice.

by cjmulrain on Jan 10, 2010 7:07 PM CST reply actions

The irony

There are eerie similarities to how the Packers last got knocked out of playoffs — two years ago, by your Giants. The Packers get outplayed, have a defensive collapse somehow manage to come back to tie the game in the 4th, sneak into overtime when the other team misses a short FG to win in closing seconds, win the toss & then the QB, the hero of the regular season & otherwise one of the bright spots of the game, turns it over to give the other team the easy score.

Favre got crucified for that turnover in OT two years ago by many here, he was said to have “choked.”. Will be interesting to see if Rodgers gets the same treatment here. I’m thinking not.

by puddnhead on Jan 10, 2010 10:05 PM CST up reply actions

in Rodgers' defense

the fumble was a little less his fault than Favre’s interception was two years ago – but other than that, yea, they were pretty similar. Both were great games that I would definitely watch again (even if I weren’t a Giants fan), but I feel bad that both of them ended badly for you guys (moreso for this one, obviously).

but 21 points are

both Larry Fitzgerald touchdown passes should have been offensive pass interference. I never knew that it was okay to lay out a cornerback. And the Rodgers fumble is a given. But still, the turnovers and lack of defense cost us the game, I’m just let down because i thought we were going to win, then every Aaron Rodgers hater would shut up, and Rodgers would join the elite rank of quarterbacks, and we could stop talking about Favre. After looking at next years schedule, I’m quite skeptical about how we’ll play if we don’t address some major issues with the line, cornerbacks, and the overall lack of disipline by the team (glares at mccarthy). But I will give mccarthy proprs for the 4 and 1 call and the onside kick

I still love you Pack!

Youngest team in the league learn’t a lesson. The next several years are the dynasty!!!

by soliman on Jan 10, 2010 7:14 PM CST reply actions

Not exactly

The Packers have been the youngest team in the league for the last 1043 years. I might have exaggerated a little, but you get my point. In 2007 (even with old man Favre), the Packers were the youngest team in the NFL and made it to the NFC championship game. The Pack followed that up with a dismal season in ‘08 as they tossed Favre under the proverbial bus (much of which was the future HOF QB’s fault of course). I do see this team as a force in the future, but if watching this league for a long time has taught me anything…it is that anything can happen from year to year. Dynasties do not happen anymore. Closest thing was the patriots, and they had to cheat to do it.

I was only half serious...

I am disappointed and know the defense will struggle to replace some aging vets on defense (Woodson)… And then there’s the added salaries for our offensive guys (Finley) as they become stars… It’s catching lightning in a bottle nowadays…

yesss!!!

I always knew the pack was overrated. Rodgers is so great blah blah blah. Rogers lost the ball. Down the Packers fall. SO silly

Go away.

You’ll lose next week.

sorry

I don’t see the Cowboys winning. The Packers killed the Cowboys and the Packers lost badly to the Vikings. I see the Vikings advancing next week. We will likely see these same Cards face the Vikes in the NFC championship in Minnesota.

by starmark on Jan 10, 2010 7:32 PM CST up reply actions

The Packers didn't "kill" the Cowboys.

That game was much closer, the Packers only got a few lucky breaks that went their way during that game.

Correct.

Dallas went through a rough patch during that game, and the week before and the week after.

So by that logic the Bucs should be in the playoff since they beat the Saints and Packers...

I give you Packers guys a lot of credit for putting up with people like this. On a lot of sites they’d be banned.

Dude with all these Vikings trolls....

They better hope they win it all. Making new accounts just to post here. The Packers played a great game and all you have to say is Rodgers is overrated?

Ps.. I’m going to have nightmares of our LBs/safeties trying to cover Jermichael Finley for the next 10 years.

While we're on the subject of great matchups...

Cowboys-Vikings next week should be a lot of fun to watch.

That looks like it will be a great game!

And if we lose

You guys have the right to come be total tools to us based on the crap I saw here. You guys should be proud of your team and specifically your quarterback. Have a good night guys— take pride in the fact that your fan base didn’t…

a) jump ship the moment you guys were down in the game
b) call for the coaches head after losing.

I'm not going to stoop to that level.

Have a great time next week.

ha! I agree! WE ARE HERE TO HAVE FUN!

NOT DEAL WITH LOSERS WHO HAVE NO VOICE IN THE REAL WORLD SO THEY TAKE IT TO THE INTERNET WHERE EVEN LESS PEOPLE CARE ABOUT THEM. GO OUT AND GET DENIED BY THE CHICKS THAT YOU USUALLY DO. NO ONE CARES WHAT YOU SAY ONLINE.

AR apologists will say he didn't lose this game, the defense did.

And I agree.

but AR and the reckless offensive playcalling DID put us in a hole that we were digging out of all game long. Seriously, we had no business even taking this game to OT and everybody not wearing green and gold beer goggles knows it.

by CakeEater on Jan 10, 2010 7:22 PM CST reply actions

true...

your running game was non-existant. But you were forced to play ‘catch-up’ due to early mistakes.

I BELIEVE...

by ArizonaVikingsFan on Jan 10, 2010 7:29 PM CST up reply actions

Yep.

If we don’t fall behind early, the game ends up being completely different.

Yeah.

The Packers had no business making this game as close as it was. That says a lot about our team.

What a shootout

Rodgers and the packers really came alive in the 2nd half. I thought this would be a blowout for Arizona. i thought the game was done when you guys won the coin toss. An exciting game for sure.

by edbro on Jan 10, 2010 7:23 PM CST reply actions

shockingly impressed

let me start by saying that im a die hard vikings fan… and yeah I like to give my packer fan wife/ friends alot of crap about beating the hell outta you guys twice this year… however, I have to admit that I think Rodgers has emerged as a great QB… he still has some learning to do,, but anyone who says he is over rated is retarded… It no doubt was one of the most tense games that I have seen in a long time… The pack at least made it very exciting…. see ya next year

fantastic showing by rodgers. dont worry he will get his next year.

Wait wait I have a question...

it looks like the facemask came after the fumble….am I right about that?

by PackFaninFL on Jan 10, 2010 8:01 PM CST up reply actions

This picture is clearly after the fumble.

I’m not sure, but I think that if the facemask was part of the tackle that caused the fumble that it would be enforced prior to the change of possession. The result would have been an automatic first down on the personal foul, regardless of yardage.

Any help clarifying this would be appreciated.

am i actually agreeing with a troll?

when troll#99999 wrote

I’m President Obama.

Further proof that statistics are for LOSERS!

i was angry at first, but it kinda hit me. although i been proud of the d all season, the point is the d is crackable. VERY crackable. outside of jarret bush, who i hope not to even see next season, we didn’t adjust to their offense at all, which is all about timing. i feel if bob sanders came in for this game only, we would do bump n run, throw them off a bit, and have a chance. they wouldn’t expect it either! but the d has kinks and this troll is right. im not a fan of the idea that other teams fan should compliment eachothers teams either. Trash talk is part of the game. however your not a badass for making such comments in a forum.lol. and btw we are DEFINITLY not even close to #1 on d in reality. just stats
