Does anyone remember this play?
I'm right there with Posnanski on this one - I remember the play, but not the year or opponent. Something tells me this was at Green Bay, but that could just be faulty memory.
So can anyone pinpoint it?

I was wondering too
I read the Posnanski article too. I think it was the wild card game in 2004 against the Vikings.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jxAQPupmxLQ for the gruesome details (2:10 mark).
My memory of it was that the announcers laughed it off, and I though Favre himself was laughing about it too.
I could always accept that Favre would throws picks “trying to make a play”, but it was the “he’s just having fun” thing that drove me crazy. It was a freakin’ playoff game

Honestly
as much as the play delighted me I disagree that that happens because a qb is unwilling to sacrifice himself. I’ve played in a lot of pick up games as qb (admittedly much different environment, but that’s not the point). I hate running the ball. It’s not because I’m afraid to get hit, I’m not blazing fast but I’m definitely not slow. It’s really just because I would rather make a play with my arm than my legs. It’s so much more fun and epic and satisfying when it works.

Don't you think
that if athelete gets paid as much money as they do that they should should make decisions based on what’s best for the team and not themselves?

Alright alright…enough already. The guy made a decision based on what he thought was best in that split second. It backfired bigtime and as a result they lost. Sure it was a stupid pass but at the time he thought it was the best play. Lets not try to make this into something its not!
