How Is Charles Woodson Feeling?
The scariest sight was watching Green Bay Packers' CB Charles Woodson standing on the sidelines in Arizona with an injured shoulder. Tom Pelissero at the Press-Gazette confirmed it's the same shoulder that's been bothering him for most of the season (he was listed on the injury report for it going into this game). He doesn't seem too worried:
"I'm going to be OK," Woodson said.
He also updated the status of some injured Cardinals. Pro Bowl CB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie appeared to be badly hurt after he was carted off during the first quarter, but he expects to play next week. WR Anquan Boldin "got caught up" with FS Nick Collins, but he didn't say he'd play next week. Boldin has been battling a high ankle sprain for most of the season, so his injury will be something to watch this week.

Woodson's comment offers some relief, but still very worrisome
On a positive note: I think Woodson iced the NFL Defensive POY with his INT for a TD.
Charles Woodson for NFL Defensive MVP.

I don't...
I think Revis Iced it by holding Ocho…errr now Chad Johnson (again) to 0 catches after Chad spent the week talking about how he can’t be shut down…

Revis isn't why he dropped 2 or 3 passes.
As talented as Revis is, he’s one dimensional. I think Woodson will get it.

I understand what he is saying...
They mentioned this on ESPN as well, but the argument is that Woodson is versatile. He can come up and make the stops on the run, and also go and lock down a tough WR. Woodson lines up anywhere and will do anything.
Not saying Revis is bad. The guy is amazing. Probably the best cover corner in the game. Again, I am only going off the small clip I caught and not my own assessment of Revis. The case could be made either way for either DB. I could see awarding Revis DB of the Year and Woodson DPOY (homering that one :P)

I think Woodson should get it. Revis is great and is definitely the best cover guy in the league but Woodson is so versatile. He has the stats as well.

I get what you are saying, but I guess he can only do what they ask of him. Most corners aren’t asked to do what Charles does and maybe that is why he deserves it. Don’t mistake me talking about Revis as skepticism toward Woodson…I LOOOVE the guy and I hope he gets it. I just think Revis deserves more talk than he’s been getting in this. He seems to be forgotten BECAUSE of his lack of stats but if he is doing his job, he won’t have much for stats cause his guy won’t be getting the ball. Its a tough call, they are both excelling at what they do and what they do is SO different!! I’ve watched a few games with Revis and its amazing how he’s almost in the receivers mind…he’s literally covering the top WRs in the league and giving them NO space to breath with no safety coverage over the top. I don’t think they could go wrong either way with these two…I just hope dumerville and sharper don’t get it!

i've seen Revis YPA and Completion % against
Both are really impressive. I want to find the same stats for Woodson, but I don’t know where to look.

according to Peter King
Woodson told McCarthy that he could go back in after the shoulder injury and McCarthy told him to stay out.

Well...
I’m going with shftr’s comment. It makes sense to me. Why would McCarthy allow his best CB to go back in when the game was in the bag, at that point? I know I wouldn’t have let him back in, no matter how much he cried at me. Now, next week….WHOLE different ball game.
Woodson will be in against the Cardinals on Sunday….on that you can count. He’d have to be bleeding out a lung to not play.

Bleeding lungs are for suckers…that wouldn’t keep him out either. He’d have to have a leg fall off…which brings up a clip from Monte Python…a mere flesh wound!!

New article on Woodson...
No spin at all in here about him tanking while he was a Raider…that is good. I would lose respect for a player who tanks to get out of a team!
