Bryant McKinnie Is Off The NFC Pro Bowl Team

Unlike the NFC quarterbacks pictured above, Vikings' LT Bryant McKinnie was kicked off the Pro Bowl team for missing practices.

From Gonzo at Daily Norseman:

Sweet, merciful crap. . .really?

I've never heard of someone getting kicked off the Pro Bowl before. Though it wouldn't surprised me if it had happened before.

Man, we talking about practice? Practice?! at the Pro Bowl?! Practice?!

Does he still get paid?!!?

What a dumbass…he didn’t earn it this year anyway.

by TrevorR on Jan 31, 2010 10:50 AM CST up reply actions

Nope

He won’t get paid. He might even get fined, but I doubt the NFL bothers.

by Brandon on Jan 31, 2010 9:57 PM CST up reply actions

What a jackass.

Hopefully, Goodell will fine him AND make him repay the league for his flight and hotel. Between this and the 5 vikings who declined the invite, it’s sort of looking like all of that time the Vike fans spent stuffing the ballot box was a waste of time…

Perhaps the players will suffer the Pro Bowl effect

and request more money in there contract negations than they are really worth.

Haha nice post. Especially like the part about stuffing the ballot because well, they did haha.

Simeon Rice got kicked off the NFC pro bowl a couple of years ago

by Andy Reid. It was actually KGB that took his place.

Maybe in order to understand mankind, we have to look at the word itself: "Mankind". Basically, it's made up of two separate words—"mank" and "ind". What do these words mean? It's a mystery, and that's why so is mankind.

Now Mckinnie is claiming he's "too injured" to play and had to withdraw, on his twitter account (according to ProFootballTalk)....

Willis McGahee tweeted back “that’s bullshit”, which is pretty much the funniest thing I’ve read all week.

Awesome.

I’m glad somebody called him out on that. And you’re right, that is hilarious.

I agree with McGahee, that is BS.

And TSSC is right, that is great.

Who cares if he's a Cubs fan? This is a football forum! He is a PACKER fan as well. So, from now until March, I’m sure he’ll dedicate a lot of his time here. In late March, then we can be enemies during the baseball season. Besides, the Cubs have perhaps the most loyal baseball fanbase in the country. You have to respect that.

Go Pack!

Is this a guess the age of the poster comment?

Hillarious

and disappointing all in one.
He has never played to his potential, why is he (or was he) selected to the pro bowl in the first place?

I always loved that one.

by FoulJack on Jan 31, 2010 12:26 AM CST reply actions

Yeah, do you remember how dominant he was in college? I’m pretty sure he gave up only 1 sack in his 4 years at Miami. He always been above average but never that elite LT that many thought he’d be. He seemed to degress a bit this year too, and seeing as how he is 30 years old that could be bad news for the Vikings.

So that’s why JaMarcus Russell never played in a Pro Bowl.

Not quite.

Jamarcus Russell needs to win a few games and complete more than 52% of his passes. Either that or have one or two more AFC QBs pull out for “personal reasons”.

Nice to see the AFC guys taking it easy on the NFC tackles.

Several times all ready they’ve pulled up rather than plow Rodgers into the ground. Of course, that may not last if the game ends up close.

TBD

Yeah, Diehl looked like our version of Barbre. Of course, he had entirely different circumstances.
