Now I'm not one to complain. I accept the meltdown of penalties against the Bears Monday night becuase most of them were legitimate calls. I accept the flag on Woodson becuase is was a penalty. Heck, I'll even accept the trip as Pass Interference on the play before that.
But on the same token, if these are penalties, then aren't others done on the Packers penalties as well? Do the referees hate Mike McCarthy or something? Rodgers has been hit way too hard WAY too often, and maybe 1 out of every 10 of them has gotten a flag. Big name QB's like Peyton or Eli Manning, Favre, Brees, Cutler, or Rivers always seem to have at least one extra set of eyes on them for protection, yet it seems like everything Rodgers has happen to him doesn't get called.
Now he has a concussion. If history and science can show us something in football, it is this ---> Concussions don't just happen once. Once you suffer one concussion, you become more and more prone to another concussion later in life. Football players have a more violent life, for obvious reasons than others, and I just hope that now they will treat Rodgers in the same manner that they treat the other elite QBs, and when he gets his illegally, at least they'll call a flag on it.
That being said, the game should have not even been in issue, becuase there was a BLATANT holding penalty in the endzone not called on Clay Matthews. Yet another example of our guys not getting the whistles when it is warranted. It should not be more stringent based on location. It should be the same rules if you're in the endzone, the red zone, or midfield. A hold is a hold. C'mon refs. Get with it.
