No. 18 Wisconsin Defeats No. 1 Ohio State, 31-18
Obviously posts about the Wisconsin Badgers football team are not usually a priority at Acme Packing Company, but when they beat the No. 1 ranked team in the country, my alma mater deserves a shout out. From Sports Network:
It's the first time Wisconsin has knocked off the top-ranked team in the country since September 12, 1981, when the Badgers topped Michigan in Madison. Wisconsin had lost its last four games against top-ranked clubs and is just 4-16 all-time in such contests.
I was thinking about that Michigan game earlier today. I was barely paying attention to sports at the time, but I can still recall it. It was no surprise that the Badgers won the game in the trenches. From Along The Olentangy:
I must say that I was surprised with the way Wisconsin dominated the line of scrimmage. Unfortunately, injuries have caught up to this defensive squad. Our defensive line was unable to control the line of scrimmage, and the linebackers were unable to get off blocks.
An awesome win. Now back to the Packers.

Awesome game is right! Aside from Ingram and Richardson is there a better back field than Clay and White? How about Watt? Dude’s an animal.
White and Clay are better than Ingram and Richardson stat-wise.
And IMO, they are FAR better.
White: 80 carries, 560 yards, 9 TDs
Clay: 136 carries, 796 yards, 11 TDs
Ingram: 74 rushes, 487 yards, 4 TDs
Richardson: 71 rushes, 456 yards, 6 TDs

Loved it!
Watt had a great game. Nice job by Tolzien too.

Just a Tremendous Win for the Badgers!
Great game by the OL who utterly dominated the OSU defensive front 7 for nearly the entire 60 Min. Tolzien was a key to winning too… Thought he needed to have a really good day and he did. THe opening kickoff return for a TD really set the tone for the game and gave UW and the crowd a boost to even higher level of excitement!
You've been Stroh'd!!!
John Clay
Is he coming to the NFL next year? Would he be a good fit in our scheme?
I hope not.
He’s a redshirt junior this year.

I watched this whole game.
I also participated in the game thread over at B5Q. After the game ended, fans of numerous other teams (including Boise State, Ohio State, Oregon, Iowa, and Michigan State) showed up to congratulate or celebrate with us.
This ranks as the best Badgers game I can remember … ever. I missed the 2003 game, but that was not against the top-ranked team in the country.
I didn't believe it last August, but it turns out that love survives.

Yea, amazing
how a team that builds an early lead can hold on and close out an opponent when they stay committed to a run game that was clicking on all cylinders when they established that early lead.
