Packer Injuries: Only One To Report
A small victory on Sunday was that the Green Bay Packers only had one injury to report. From Mike McCarthy:
(The injury to Poppinga…?)
Brady Poppinga had a knee injury. I have not seen Brady yet in the training room, but he did not return. That’s the only injury that I have for you.
I'm not his biggest fan, but he's someone who has the size to play outside LB and knows the system well. Watching LB Robert Francois log significant minutes outside didn't inspire confidence. He seemed to become engulfed by offensive lineman on the strong side.

PUP Players
When are we likely to hear about our PUP players? I assume just meetings today, so no practice, but don’t they have to get cleared by the doctors after coming off the list?
clearance
Usually comes before they are allowed to practice. If healthy enough to practice they have 2 weeks? to practice w/o being activated to the 53 man roster. Then its a matter of getting in game shape… Thats usually about 2 weeks to get used to hitting and playing at close to game speed. I expect the PUP guys to be activated immediately after the wk 8 game.

Thanks
That’s what I understood. I see now that all three are expected in practice tomorrow, and the insiders suspect that Harris will be ready this week.
Brady Poppinga
Can easily be replaced by one of the many “Get Well Soon” balloons strewn about the Packers training facility.

I'm actually OK w/ this
no need to keep him on the roster when we need all the availible spots we can get. Plus if he’s due back in 10 weeks thats around the end of the year. I’d hate for us to rush him through rehab to get him on the field at the end of there and end up doing more long term damage overall

Has Finley suffered big time injuries before?
I honestly don’t recall him suffering a major injury last year

I think he missed some games last year but again I am just asking. Here is hoping to a healthy season next year.
Rodger got a bad rap!
He played on a broken bone is his foot and then needed surgery! Also had a hammy that kept him out for a couple games, but he could have played w/ it if needed!!! Never understood that…
Finley has been worse than Rodgers… Ligament damage to a knee last year, but it was only MCL not an ACL. MCL heals on its own but takes 6-8 weeks depending on severity… Now this year another knee injury (torn miniscus). At least they were able to repair it and didn’t have to remove it. That bodes much better for his long term health!
