Friday Injury Report: Lions at Packers

The Green Bay Packers are dealing with some injuries as two key defensive reserves are out on Sunday. LB Brandon Chillar injured his shoulder during the Bears game and it's kept him out all week, so more playing time for LB A.J. Hawk and maybe even a sighting of LB Desmond Bishop. Meanwhile CB Sam Shields hurt his calf during Wednesday's practice and is out. The bad news is that according to the Journal-Sentinel, CB Jarrett Bush is "primed" to replace Shields as the nickel back. The good news is that Greg Bedard contradicted his colleague and tweeted that CB Brandon Underwood would play in the nickel. The really good news is that it's the Lions, and they hardly feature a potent passing attack. Special teams S Charlie Peprah appears to be out for the second consecutive week, maybe LB Brady Poppinga too, but everyone else should be available.

Speaking of the Lions, according to Packers.com, it appears three starters are out: QB Matthew Stafford, WR Nate Burleson, and LB DeAndre Levy. Rookie RB Jahvid Best only was able to practice on Friday, even then he was limited, and he may still be a game time decision. They were also surprised when DE Kyle Vanden Bosch was forced to sit out practice on Friday after he suffered a back injury on Thursday.

The full injury report from Packers.com is after the jump.

Any news on Neal?

Having a little depth on the D-Line would be nice. Those are some big boys and I’m sure they couyld benefit from the occasional breather.

Luckily the Lions don’t have many good receivers nor a good QB. Hopefully Shields will be back by next week. I really hope the second report was right. Jarret Bush still scares the heck out of me, regardless of who’s throwing at him.

Let the Zombo vs. Jones debate commence.
