Sunday Early Games - Open Thread

It's not a great slate of Sunday morning games, as we wait for the Green Bay Packers tonight. The Redskins at Bears I would guess is what most everyone is watching. The Eagles at Titans game looks pretty good. What are you watching?

Skins have been killing teams lately (not on the scoreboard, but actual players!)

And all this debate about hits is getting annoying…people are missing the point.

Watching Eagles-Titans

On a punt by Titans, a player stood right on the center’s head, no flag. It’s still bugging me.

LOL OOOOOPS!

I hated that flag too. Not that it was called, but how they went about calling it.

by Bush League All Star on Oct 24, 2010 12:11 PM CDT up reply actions

+1

Call it when it happens, not during a TV timeout. That was the greatest crime in the entire sequence.

by Danwood on Oct 24, 2010 12:12 PM CDT up reply actions

Well, the officials can't help when the TV timeouts happen

But at least throw a flag on the field while the play is still going on. The way that happened, we had no indication that anyone had done anything wrong until we came back to the game and the ref was explaining to us why we didn’t get the ball.

Miami up to an early lead over the Steelers.

Deflected pass as McNabb was escaping a sack, easy 6

Total fail

It’s usually a good idea to dump the ball instead of taking a sack, but not if it goes for a pick-6.

remind anyone of the 2006 Bears… not very good but got extremely lucky throughout the year (especially on defense)

by I voted for Kodos on Oct 24, 2010 2:26 PM CDT up reply actions

They did.

They changed their name to the Redlegs.

 From Wikipedia

Twice in the 1950s (the McCarthy era), the Reds, fearing that their traditional club nickname would associate them with the threat of Communism, officially changed the name of the team to the Cincinnati Redlegs.4 From 1956 to 1960, the club’s logo was altered to remove the term “REDS” from the inside of the “wishbone C” symbol. The “REDS” reappeared on the 1961 uniforms, but the point of the C was removed, leaving a smooth, non-wishbone curve. The traditional home-uniform logo was restored in 1967.

Well

I give anyone a pass for misdrafting a first round QB because it’s so freaking easy to screw up.

Where I do not give them the pass is that Alex Smith has sucked forever and the 49ers have not done anything worthwhile to remedy the issue.

by Danwood on Oct 24, 2010 3:14 PM CDT up reply actions

Well they did make him take a pay cut, but you’re absolutely right, that does nothing. They should have made a serious attempt at McNabb. The story has been that they want Smith to do well because they have paid him so much. Well the Raiders paid a ton to Russell and even Davis realized it was time to move on. The Yorks r a joke. That team has sucked since DeBartello was forced out. They just suck! Singletarry is a complete joke!!!

Bet Singletary drops his pants after this game

Good for the Panthers. I think Fox is a good coach and his been given some crappy teams to win with (most notably a declining Jake Delhomme who was faltering for years). Lived in NC for 4 years, they’re an adopted team of mine.
