We’ve blown way too many chances this game. Two picks in the red zone. Failed fake FG. Failed playcalling on 4th and an inch.

yeah I'm confused about that
Just line up with double TE’s, those being Lee and Quarless, two fullbacks (Hall and Crabtree playing H-back), Kuhn in the back field, and Jennings split out wide and pass it. So weird.

Defense stepped up big time there. Played that whole game without Jenkins and Pickett. Wynn and Wilson stepped in and held there own.
I think Bishop had a very valid reason to be mad about not playing. The dude is a player. He comes up and lays a lick, and can cover.
Bishop needs to be in the line up...
I have been high on him this whole time. He is an energy player with a nose for the ball.

You have to think the game in NY is a loss
but they should beat Dallas, which put them at 5-4 heading into the bye/the game in the dome.
At that point, Minnesota could very well have six losses and be out of the picture.
I think we show up in NY
if the offense moves and scores early, we’re a good team
They are pretty deep in the cellar already. Hopefully they stay there...
They have a talented team, but they are not very good.

I did think so but I don’t know after tonight. The offense basically moved the ball at will tonight. McCarthy finally called some screens and quick timing routes. If he does that next week we definitely have a good chance of winning.

I guess it depends on who comes back
if we can get some guys back this week, we might have a chance. But the Jets are really good.
At any rate, the Vikings will be no better than 5-5 when Green Bay goes to the Dome. They’re not going to beat New England, but their two games after that are home against Arizona and at the Bears; you have to think they win those two.
I think we also need to look at what really helped us
A running game and commitment to the running game. MM did a decent job calling plays tonight (doesn’t make-up for the rest of the year)
But good running and lots of attempts, screen passes and using Greg Jennings on more then just deep routes all contributed to the big time offensive play tonight

It's funny
Before Favre came to town, Adrian Peterson was the best player in the game (possibly ever) and Brett Favre was the most overrated player in the league (possibly ever). Now, with Favre a Viking, it’s like every time he blows a game it’s Peterson’s fault, the refs aren’t calling the illegal hits on Favre, the whole world is against Favre, and he’s (undoubtedly) the greatest player to ever play the game. And the best person ever, too.

Are you sure? I could have sworn the final score was 28-24 in favor of the Packers
and unless the NFL changed the rules in mid-game, my understanding is that the team with more points at the end is declared the winner.
by TarHeelHawk on Oct 24, 2010 11:33 PM CDT up reply actions 2 recs
It depends . . .
Sometimes, in the playoffs, you can win with fewer points if you outgained the other team, were beaten by the refs in the greatest tragedy since slavery/the holocaust, and were declared the best team in the NFL for now and forever by your fans.
When that happens, you not only win that game, but the Super Bowl as well. Even though the entire world is against you, you know you are the true winners.
At least that’s what I’ve heard.

Let's be honest here
Quarless’ TD catch wasn’t a catch. It just wasn’t.
With that out of the way…
1) If you’re that angry about the call, Chilly – I don’t know if you know this, but you could’ve actually done something about it. There’s a red flag in your pocket. It allows you to force – yes, force – the refs to review the call. But you didn’t use it, so I assume you thought the call was correct after seeing the replay. The refs thought it was the correct call at the time, too. Understandable call, then.
2) It was the first play of the second quarter. There were probably more than 70 plays after that one – any of which you could have made up for that call with good plays. On several of those much more important plays later in the game, your opponent actually got screwed by the refs (think the Packers’ fourth-down spot and conversion attempt in the fourth quarter) but made better plays to make up for it.
3) Good coaches and reasonable fans don’t spend their time after a loss complaining about a single call that occurred a quarter of the way through the game. Losers do that. Good coaches and reasonable fans talk about real reasons why their teams lost games and how their teams can actually improve.
