Browns and Raiders stole our thunder this week

I can just hear Chris at DN right now, pounding out the keys: “SB Nation forgot ‘The Refs over the Vikings’” option

by Danwood on Oct 26, 2010 11:15 AM CDT reply actions

They're probably confused

They still think they won despite having fewer points.

But seriously, I had to go w/ Packer’s over Vikings. The Browns win is a big win for them… but our’s was a division and will probably have playoff implications, I don’t see the Browns game doing that

The Browns

may have woken up the sleeping Saints giant.

Terrible things will result if that is the case.

You can't be serious, man! You cannot be serious! His foot was on the line! It was ON THE LINE! He was clearly out! How could you possibly call him in!?

I'm not sold on the Saints

Just ask the Vike fans at DN… they need both the Refs, the league, and the probably Obama wanting the Saints to win to make-up for FEMA after the Katrina.

But on a serious note, they’re offense doesn’t seem quite as dynamic as last year and their defense wasn’t phenomenal last year, they did the same thing we did where we bend and bend and bend and then get a timely turnover when the other team is about to score. If you take the timely turnovers away from them, they’re an above average, but not great, team last year

You never know

when a devastating home loss will touch off a 4-3 team into a 9 game winning streak in which they paste everybody on their way to the playoffs.

San Diego starts slowly since Norvy took over. Then they go on an epic run to the playoffs, usually knocking out the Broncos in the process.

I mentioned this somewhere last week

If you remember, the Saints were hardly dominant the entire season. Could’ve lost week two if the Dolphins hadn’t given the game away. Close loss to a 1-7 Rams team. A near loss to the Redskins then finished the season with losses to Dallas, TB, and @ Carolina. Essentially they started out strong, got lucky a few games, sucked at the end, then came on in the playoffs.

I voted Raiders over Broncos

I want to fly under the radar.

I voted the same.

I don’t know why every time someone beats the Saints they get the majority of the votes. The Saints are last year, they aren’t the same team anymore, they aren’t that good. They lost to Max Hall’s Cardinals and Colt MCcoy’s Browns. They aren’t good anymore. Victory of the week goes to the Raiders hands down. They completely destroyed the Broncos and set a franchise record for points in a game. Beating the Saints doesn’t mean as much as it did last year. People don’t seem to realize that yet.

I think that vote

is less about the Saints losing to a poor team and more about the Browns beating a decent team… Let’s be honest… when was the last time Cleveland had anything good happen to them in sports

and please don’t say LeBron James

+1

Cleveland Browns fans have had a rough decade and a half.

and now that Lebron is gone, there isn’t much hope for sports teams in those cities…

by TrevorR on Oct 26, 2010 12:58 PM CDT up reply actions

There wasn't much hope

for LeBron anyway.

Best record in the NBA in the regular season; flukiest playoff team ever.

And, IMO, he’s not a good defensive player. Shots that he blocks would be called shooting fouls on any Milwaukee Bucks player. Pathetic. I hated LeQueen with a passion BEFORE the whole Miami deal went down.

Can we never mention him again? Please?

Does it come

with all awful whining from DN as well?

You can go over the DN

and read their thread in Real time w/ the game… it’s kind of the same thing

I was banned at DN

before I could accept their terms of service. Oops.

No

But if I did ever get that far without a triple facepalm, Chris Gates would likely go ballistic on learning my (former) allegiances.
