Injury Report: Packers at Jets
Now that the Green Bay Packers have 10 players on I.R., their injury list has shrunk to 9 players. Meanwhile, the Jets, fresh off their bye-week, have three players listed on their injury report and those three are all expected to play. Yep, nothing fair about it, but the Packers have to make the best of it.
The Packers list is almost evenly split between the questionable and probable players. I don't expect any of the questionable players will play and that includes DE Cullen Jenkins, RB Dimitri Nance, DE Ryan Pickett, or RT Mark Tauscher. I'm not sure what happened to Nance, but it's likely he was hurt near the end of practice on Friday. RT Bryan Bulaga should be effective as a sub for Tauscher, but the loss of Jenkins and Pickett tears the heart out of the defensive line. DE C.J. Wilson and DE Jarius Wynn will fill in as best as they can.
The probable players, LT Chad Clifton, S Nick Collins, WR Donald Driver, and CB Charles Woodson, should all play through their injuries as they've done over the past week(s). OL Marshall Newhouse will probably be listed as inactive whether he's healthy or not. According to the Journal-Sentinel, none of the players eligible to come off the PUP list, CB Al Harris, SS Atari Bigby, or RB James Starks, are going to return to the active roster this week.

We need at least one of the D-linemen
Pickett or Jenkins, to play enough to get some rest for the other guys. Otherwise the Jets might run all over us. Remember, we’re going up against Rex Ryan, not Brad Childress here.

WTF?! Nance too??
I know Brandon already said he doesn’t know, but serious…Nance? He’s played all of one or two plays and he’s already hurting?
Now I’m starting to suspect that something else is a foot here. Do they staff the training room with really hot women or keep it stocked with fresh baked cookies or something? I mean there has got to be a reason that most of this team seems to want to spend most of their time there instead of on the field….right?
Nance
Nance was probably listed as an attempt to appease the Injury Gods. We’ve got to add at least one guy a week to even hope to appease their insatiable appetite for Packers blood.

So he was a virgin sacrifice or something?
I didn’t think we needed to appease the heathen gods….but at the rate the Packers are dropping that wouldn’t surprise me.

Well
it’s either that or we start warming up before games.

Quite disappointed to see no Harris or Bigby
Harris because there’s no such thing as too many corners (and we need to see where he’s at), and Bigby because he’s pretty solid against the run.
Also would like to see Bulaga in the game somewhere. He seemed to have played very well last week and he needs to get experience to get better. He’s also probably a stronger blocker than either Clifton or Tauscher and we could use that in the run game.

Big losses
Al Harris, Atari Bigby, Ryan Pickett, and Cullen Jenkins all likely to be out is huge.
We interrupt this program for a breaking news flash. Corey Maggette likes shooting more then passing.
Back to you.
Don't know about you.
But I didn’t expect Harris or Bigby to be active until after wk 8 anyhow… My guess is they are activated next wk and possibly not until after the bye.
Pickett and Jenkins would hurt alot if unable to play though. Seems 50/50 at best…
You've been Stroh'd!!!
PUP Players
Don’t they have to be activated or placed on IR after three weeks?
yup
If they aren’t activated by next Saturday, you can add them to our lost-for-the-season list. What’s worrying is that I only hear about Bigby and Harris, while I feel Starks is needed just as much as them. It sounds as if he’s going to be a rookie next year.

Worried about a beat-down in the trenches
Do not like the thought of the very skilled Jets O-line playing games and working-over the young and inexperienced fill-ins on the Packs D-line. Rest-assured though, the fill-ins at the next level of defense, the linebackers, will surely cover any weakness that appear as the game goes on.
None-the-less, glad we’ve got Capers keeping the D somewhat respectable.
From what i've heard, Cullen has a good chance of playing
Anyways, it will be incredibly important the get an early lead and keep it that way, otherwise we don’t stand a chance. With the banged up DL, we must force the Jets to pass the ball, cause if they’ll feel free to pound it, it’s virtually impossible for us to keep LT and Greene from having a field day. The Utopian scenario is that we get the ball first, score a TD, and on the Jets first possession get a takeaway and run away with it from there.

For once
I’d like MM’s strategy of taking the ball first.

Man that is a lot of hurt guys
He’s always open. He catches a lot of balls. He’s un-guardable, no matter how old he is
good news guys
Cullen Jenkins is active and will play. Pickett is inactive. Also, both Nance and Q. Johnson are out, which I don’t understand, if one of our backs is hurt (please don’t), we’ll have only one RB and one FB.
