Monday Night Open Thread: Texans at Colts
This could be fun. The Colts and Texans are two high powered offenses, especially now that the Texans have WR Andre Johnson back to 100%, and both teams have defenses that are nearly as battered and bruised as the Packers. The Colts defense might might be in even worse shape then the Packers. How many fantasy teams are waiting on this game to decide this week's head-to-head winner?

I only came to comment on the Kapinos sighting!
Would appear the Colts need a punter in a really bad way!!! LOL
You've been Stroh'd!!!
Man, I wish one our running back’s would cut back for once. I swear it’s almost always there!

He saw it.
He also saw that whale just breach in the TV commercial.
But he can’t do either of those things.

Wow, Manning showed mobility
and was called down short of the first down. Poor edge protection by the Texans.

I'm kind of sad that Moss may not be gone
And I’m not sure if I’d rather see Moss go or Chilly go, or have neither go and have a completely dysfunctional season.
He's gone.
Childress just issued a statement. Looks like he won whatever power struggle was going on.

Definitely Moss go. Now teams will just focus all their attention on Harvin and make Berrian and Camarillo beat them to which I say — good luck with that!

Yeah, I can’t lie. I’ve been checking their site every hour or so just to read some more meltdowns. Giddy is the perfect word to describe how I feel about their situation.

I can't even believe it.
This isn’t a tough call. I know it’s 12 million left on his contract, but this is the no brainer decision:
Chilly: You’re fired. Get your shit and get out.
Frasier: You’re the interim HC. Don’t fuck it up either, or you’ll never get another interview.
Bevell: You’re calling the plays. Do whatever you want, but Peterson gets at least 10 carries per half or you’re fired. I don’t care if it’s at half time, I’ll run your ass.
Brett: Just shut the fuck up and stop throwing to other guys.
Randy: You’re staying, but if you quit on another ball like the one you did yesterday, and I’ll take out TV commercials running that video on national TV straight through next September. You’ll be lucky to get league minimum when I get done with you.
Everybody get it? Go win some fucking games so I can talk St. Paul into giving us a new stadium, and every time one of you morons open your mouths, that gets a lot harder.

Letting him go is basically saying we’ve given up on the season. He did have decent numbers in his 4 games, and more than anything else drew so much attention. I’d bet my left nut that Harvin wouldn’t have had the games he’s had without Moss. And if they really think Rice is going to come back and all of the sudden be a world beater, their crazy. He won’t be back for 3-4 weeks, and it still won’t change the fact that their line is bad, and that Favre, for the most part has sucked. The decision to let Moss go makes absolutely no sense!
It’s hilarious really. Moss essentially implies that Childress is a poor coach and he’s canned the next day. Favre implies this multiple times, and Chilly takes it like a bitch. If he’s doing this to try to establish some credibility, it’s certainly not working.

So in league A I’ve got a 77-56 league. My opponent just picked up Hart, Brown, Walter, and Vinateri a couple hours earlier today (forgot to do his line-up’s haha). In this league receivers get 1 point per 15 yards and 6 points for Td’s! I’m hoping/thinking I’ll be able to pull off a win.
In my other league, I’ve got a 49 point lead but my opponent has Schaub and Johnson while I have no guys left. Standard scoring in this one. I’m thinking I should be able to win that one too but you never know when either of those guys will explode.
And in other news, the grass is green. Haha just felt like I wanted to share.

A league source has said the decision was made by Childress and that other members of the organization did not support the move. However, the coach controls the 53-man roster and the call, ultimately, is his.
Whoever gave Childress ultimate control of the roster, thank you!
I’m still in shock that they actually released him.
All the more reason to sign him lol
they wanted Farve? Well, how about we want Moss lol

Freeney and Mathis are such a good duo, which I why I just don’t understand why there pass defense has been somewhat shaky this season. I mean, I don’t watch a whole lot of Colts game but between the two of them, they have to get some pretty consistent pressure don’t they?
It doesn't matter how much pressure you get
if the other team is completing every down field pass.

by Bush League All Star on Nov 1, 2010 8:56 PM CDT reply actions
He was waived by someone who is VERY likely to be waived by the Vikings.
Chances are that Childress gets tragically released.

Moss is gone tomorrow at 4:00 pm
If the Cards win this week, Childress is gone November 8 at 9:00 am
So basically we have to wait to see...
1. what team he lands on,
2. if he becomes a free agent,
3. if the Vikings retain him.
I thought I read somewhere that the Vikings can pull rescind their waiver if a team claims him. I don’t know about the validity of that, but I am sure he is not too happy about this.
by Bush League All Star on Nov 1, 2010 9:03 PM CDT up reply actions
I don't see how they could retain Moss
Even if they let Mr. Noodle go. Moss wasn’t just mad at him, he was mad at the entire coaching staff. Moss may have his teammates but I don’t think there are many coaches that are endeared by him.
Point well taken...
I think that is why the Patriots did so well managing him.

by packallday555 on Nov 1, 2010 9:16 PM CDT up reply actions
Well
I think there’s a few things in play, all of them equally stupid
1. Moss wasn’t with the org for a month and was already fined for conduct
2. Moss hadn’t done anything on the field (debateable, I know, but from a pure stats view)
3. Chilly recently had a vote of confidence with his contract extension even though he did absolutely nothing to earn it
4. Moss was already ticked off and thought he was on his way out, so it’s just a continuation of that momentum
For those reasons I think Zygi saw marginal upside in siding with Childress and continuing what he already started. I would guess Zygi feels he has a better chance of winning with Chilly than Moss, given (or forced to make) the choice.
He was fined
because he did not want to talk to the media after the Packer game. I don’t blame him at all.

Preachin' to the choir
But If you’re deciding who to let go, and you obviously have placed a lot of trust in Chilly, do you side with him or the guy who was just fined and then acted out in another post game?
What the hell is up with Skins benching McNabb for Rexy lol? Yesterday it was that he didn’t know the 2 minute offense (after a full offseason and 8 weeks? Really?) and today it was that he isn’t in good enough shape — yeah, ok lol.
It's Shanny being an idiot.
